Vintage Hardware Solid Brass Round Head Machine Screws 5/16-18 x 1” I recently acquired several boxes of vintage/ old hardware that I am listing for sale. This auction is for a box of solid brass round head slotted machine screws in size 5/16-18 x 1” They appear quite old; I am guessing that they date from the 1950’s. The box indicates that were Manufactured by the Pheoll Mfg. Co of Chicago. This company is no longer in business. But a quick Google search says that they were the premier manufacturer of their time. The screws are not bright and shiny. They have a nice vintage patina that might be just what you are looking for for a restoration project. The box is heavy for its size. Over 4 lbs) I was quite surprised by how well made these screws are. The quality(fit and finish) is fantastic. You can get modern solid brass screws. But not like ... morethis. The brass screws at the hardware store pale in comparison. I took a look online and found that the modern version of these screws sell for about $1.09 each. The box is labeled one gross(144) and appears full. But I have not counted them. The box also contains matching brass nuts. But again I don’t know if the number corresponds to the number of screws.
