Matchlessantiques is offering collectors and smiths this VINTAGE HAND-I-HACK Portable Power Hack Saw. I found this info about this power hack saw online. This is a NO RESERVE auction. The author writes; I lament on the need to hacksaw stock by hand. It is a tedious and labor intensive process that results in uneven cuts and a very coarse finish. This causes significant wastes of time. Both the time to saw the material and then to file or machine the stock even. There are various machines available to help preform this task. But a rather clever one is simply a mechanized form of hacksaw. On t his page I will describe the Hand-I-Hack power hacksaw that was made by the. I was not able to find much information on this machine. The patent number is listed on the nameplate. And a copy of the patent is below(dated 1939) I also found a copy of a ... morebrochure from 1950 on a Yahoo group dedi cated to. The machine in the brochure closely resembles the machine described below. The machine uses standard 10 inch hand hacksaw blades. And overall is constructed very simply. The body is an aluminum casting with machined mountings for all the other components. The casting even includes a built in handle. It weighs about 50 pounds and runs on a 1/4 HP AC motor(1725 RPM) The"semi-steel" vise for holding stock is mounted directly in the main casting and pivots for cutting angles or miters. NOTE: This auction is for the HAND I HACK POWER HACK SAW ONLY. The Stand and other tools ARE NOT INCLUDED in this auction. This power hack saw works as it should. As far as I can tell there's only two parts that aren't original. The blade locking and guide bar and the return height adjustment tensioner spring and steel pin that engages the steel plate. Racine Power Hack saw
You are bidding on a Racine Power Hack Saw. It is set up for 230 3 phase. It is running in my shop using a phase converter which cost about $150.00. Saw runs well and cuts straight. Chain guard is missing but one can be made easy. Down pressure feed does not work all the time. Has coolant pump which works well. Saw is heavy duty and will last may years. I do have a fork lift here to load it on your truck. Can pick up or will truck freight on a pallet for shipping costs.

Neat old(1950s) vintage"Iron Mike" power hacksaw with 10" blade and 3.5" depth of cut. Made by Arco Manufacturing Co. of Grand Forks. North Dakota. DOES NOT INCLUDE A MOTOR OR MOTOR PULLEY. Does include belt, wiring harness, on/off switch, end of cut switch, new drive pulley and weight. The saw came from a local estate sale of a metal working hobbyist. He seemed to dabble in just about everything. I'm moving to a smaller place and no longer have room for this tool.
