I have seen many vintage switches that are Cutler Hammer. But none this old. I thought this was fabulous: Bakelite switches and original tag inside showing a manufacture date of Feb 1947. I copied the part number to the best of my ability and photographed it twice for your reference. The last digit is indistinct and I believe it reads"8" I do not know if this works. I do not know the history of this switch other than it has been in my possession as a backup for my old table saw for quite a while. Comes with the original box. Here is a GE start stop pushbutton. This is marked CR-2940 MAX. VOLTS 600 AC OR DC CAT. 4982698 GR1 on the side. This has momentary start/stop buttons. The stop button is a dark maroon color. This measures about 2 1/8" by 1 3/8" The buttons are about 3/4" wide. The body is some type of plastic or bakelite. I believe this would be for a three wire hook up for an electric motor. But I do not know. This is used. It has been stored in a workshop for many. Many years. There are a couple of tiny edge chips. This does not include mounting screws. CONTROL BOX RADIATION EMERGENCY STOP SWITCH SAIC
While poking around in the nooks and crannies of my favorite industrial surplus lot I chanced upon this radiation control box. I bonded with it immediately. The case is made of brushed Stainless Steel and there are five buttons/switches on it. I removed the bottom plate and checked each switch with my Fluke meter and they all check good. Inside is a wiring harness which exits the rear as a 25 pin sub D connector. When I got this the key in the key-switch was bent and when I tried to straighten it it broke. So I got a new one made at the local locksmith shop. This unusual and unique control box would make a great desk or bar addition and a sure conversation starter. Or use it as is to control that XRAY project you built with the surplus tube you found on EBAY. I have a similar unit at home that I use for my model rocket hobby. Or heck.
