1960's Ringed Glass Spring Loaded Liquid,Syrup Dispenser Steel Handled Hong Kong
This is a very unique old piece. Marked Made in Hong Kong on the handle. It is 5 1/4" tall, 3 3/4" wide, weighs 10 Ounces. It is a thick, heavy glass and stainless steel. The handle makes the plunger rise and opens the dispensing hole at the bottom. I don;t know what it is or what it was used for. When you unscrew the top, the plunger and sealing end also come out, so I don;t know how it would be filled unless you hold your finger over the bottom. It might be a syrup dispenser.

The“Weeder” Spring Loaded Mechanical Fish Trap The Weeder spring loaded fish trap was invented by Phillip Slough and patented(2.419,295) on April 22, 1947. It was invented in Detroit, Michigan and manufactured in Chicago, Illinois. The trap is about 3" long and was made out of wood(until 1949) with steel and spring steel. By late 1950 Slough sold the rights to the lures to L. W. Petrie and Petrie Company who then began to manufacture the Weeder in plastic. The new company became the Ideel Fish Lures Company of Chicago Illinois. The trap works when a fish bites down on the lure forcing the hooks out into the mouth of the fish. This fish trap is the plastic version in"aluminum and black scale" It does show light wear and signs of use. With very little corrosion on the metal parts and is in excellent shape. Offered here is an original. Signed Walton Bros. N.Y spring-loaded handheld candle lantern. Circa 1860-1870. It stands 6 inches tall and 2 and 1/4 across the base. Some flaking of the japanning, but still 70 percent remains, conservatively. Original glass chimney. This works by removing the tin candle cartridge from the bottom, taking the base off the cartridge and slipping a candle inside. A steel spring in the cartridge pushes up against the candle as it burns down. The wick then burns at the top with the lid open. The candle cartridge cover and spring are designed to easily be removed, and a candle mounted in the base, converting this to a small, traditional candle lantern when the front cover is lifted. This technology allows it to be used in dry or wet weather. Great for Americana, lighting, tin or nautical collectors.

You then press the button and the blades flirt out at lightening speed then disappear back into the body. The finish is chrome and it is worn away in lots of small areas exposing the brass body and there is a very small split in the side where the button is but is hard to see and does not affect its operation in any way.
