Antique spring loaded fish hook or animal trap. Looks alot like the very rare Eddleman's Never Fail Hook which I have listed in another auction. I'm not sure who made this one. It is probably a handmade copy of the Eddleman but for all I know it could very well be an actual prototype of the Never Fail hook. I have no way of tracing it however. No Reserve. Ultra Rare Eddlemans Never Fail Spring Loaded Fish Hook Animal Trap
This is the real deal here folks. Not often do you get the chance to own one of the most rare spring loaded hooks on the market. These don't come up for sale very often and that's probably because there are only about a half dozen known to exist. One is featured in the"Spring Loaded Fish Hooks. Traps and Lures" Book by Tim Mierzwa and Bill Blauser. This one is in wonderful condition. The following comes from the rarefishinghooks website about these hooks. Eddleman's Never Fail Fish Hook and Animal Trap Circa 1913 Patent No. 1072672 The patent was applied for by Welcome F. Sweet on November 4. 1912. The patent rights to this deadly spearing device were already assigned to G.W. Eddleman months prior to the date the patent was granted in 1913. Constructed of brass and steel with black finish. Used Aero Brake Levers w/Spring Loaded Design.No Rubber Hoods Thank you for your interest in this item and please visit our store for other offerings. We have very reasonable shipping terms and combine orders to save money(for customers) on shipping costs. We also maintain customer friendly return/refund/exchange policies. Product Description: This offering is for a used set of aero brake levers in a silver finish(albeit weathered and scuffed/scratched from use) There are no markings on the levers(other than dating) So I do not know the make or model name/number of these brake levers. Dating indicates a mid 80's vintage and they appear to be bike shop quality brake levers, so my best guess is they are Japanese-made. The lever bodies are made out of a hardened resin/plastic and the levers themselves are made from an aluminum alloy. The ... morelever body design is also somewhat unique in that there is a lip that bisects the lever body at a point where it appears the hoods required for these levers are smaller and do not wrap around the very front of the lever bodies. I say this. Because we stock a number of different new-old-stock brake hoods, but(unfortunately) I don't have anything remotely close to fitting these levers. So please keep this in mind when considering these used brake levers. I should also note that oversized cable housing stops are not needed with these levers. As the cable entry point within the lever body was designed so that a standard/smaller(and much more common) ferrule will seat properly and allow the cable to pass through to the lever(as intended) I should also mention the steel bar clamps on these levers are not marked, but caliper measurements indicate they will mount on bar tubing with a diameter in the 23.8 mm to 24.2 mm range, which should cover nearly all drop bars on the market(which are generally made with bar tubing that measures 23.8 mm in diameter) Lastly, I can confirm the weight of these levers is 184 grams(for the set.and as pictured without brake hoods) per our digi

DeTour Village, MI" This rig has cross members that are designed to be inserted into the body of a minnow. They intersect inside the minnow and both the vertical and horizontal sections have two sets of treble hooks. It measures 4 1/2" w/o the hooks. The box, label and rig are all in VG condition. The other rig appears to be quite early(1900 to 1920's) It looks a little like a small set of ice tongs(5 1/4" long when closed) It is similar to spring loaded hooks that were made by a company called"Monarch" but it is not marked. Condition is vintage used/poor in my opinion because of rust. The spring action seems to work fine and there are no cracks or breaks. They definitely need a good cleaning and probably a paint job. Very nice glass. Chrome and bakelite sugar cube serving set. The glass jar has a pinwheel and diamond pattern with a chrome tray and lid. The tongs are chrome and use a spring loaded mechanism to pick up sugar cubes. Both the lid and tongs have red bakelite knobs. The tongs are marked Verchromt. There is a small chip on the rim of the jar that does not show when the lid is in place and he tray has a few spots of oxidation. Overall condition is very good otherwise. The line tie is a small double brass ring inserted into a slot cut into the striking hook which sets the fish trap. Once the trap is set either an upward movement of the line or a downward of the bait hook, it would disengage the sliding bar which the line is tied from the striking hook which the flat spring now forces sending the striking hook into the top of the fish head.
