While it is quite similar to the Stromberg Carlson series of tube amps and was well as the Knight kit amps.it appears that it was totally home built. At any rate it was very professionally done as you can see from a few of the pics. The tubes were tested. The whole thing was re-capped with new caps and filters and it was cleaned up and is ready to use. Its pretty powerful. I used it with a guitar I had and drove two 12 inch speakers with it. no problems. I also did an input with my iPod and it was more than enough power to rock the house. It would be a fun amp to use for any kind of set-up It has dual vintage single jacks in the back for inputs and in the front it has a switchable set up with an RCA type jack and a 1/4 inch guitar cord jack. ... moreIt would be great as a back up or a stand alone amp for a harp/harmonica. Selmer Zodiac Twin Thirty Tru-Voice Tube Valve Guitar Amplifier amp VINTAGE
This is a beautiful Selmer Zodiac Twin Thirty Tru-Voice tube amp. I assume if you're here. You know how great these are, and also how rare they can be. The last one sold on ebay for $3600. This one is a really great example, used on MANY studio sessions over the years. I've installed amazing Weber speakers for much more bass than the original Celestion Greenbacks had. Actually, it's almost too much bass for my high output Les Paul's, but my strat and telecaster sound like butter through this thing. It loves single coils it seems. It also breaks up much earlier with these Weber speakers installed, which I love. I also added silicon o-ring tube dampers to tame any microphonics. This one had a trannie problem 8 years ago, and there are VERY few guys that I trust with working on these Selmer's. If you know the history and ... morerepair guys worlwide, then you will recognize the famed tech Jimmy Chambonino based out of London(google his last name, he's at chambonino dot com) He's one of the few who can be trusted to do the correct repairs(he's seen literally HUNDREDS of Selmer's in his time, I feel no one knows Selmers as well as Jimmy! and he's the one who installed a vintage trannie for me, same type as the original. You can see the stickers on the side of the trannie that he has placed. I've also done extensive tube rolling on this amp, as I wanted it to push bass and overdrive earlier than usual, as that's what sounded best with my strat. I've noticed that these amps tend to have the most dynamic changes to tube and speaker changes than any of my other vintage amps I have heard. It could be the ECC83/EF86 preamp stage or the GZ34 tube rectifier stage, which definitely makes a difference. Sold as-is because of age but guaranteed to work as described.
