Dukane Portable Overhead Projector With Cover Model 4003 Used
Here is a Dukane Portable Overhead Projector. Model 4003, being sold AS IS. It was used by our daughter, but, she hasn't needed it for a while, now that she has moved, she doesn't want it. I plugged it in, and it lights up. I put my hand on the glass part, and it did show up on the wall. I didn't have those things that you use on them with the written material to check it. There are two doors that open underneath it and swing back with the legs for it to stand on. The plug and overhead arm are also tucked inside. You turn the knob on the side and it brings out the arm and you can adjust it to where you need it. It comes with a vinyl or plastic cover that slips down over top of it with a hole for the handle to come through for carrying it. The cover has some small holes in it, and a mark where something was crossed out on it, maybe ... morea name or something. This is a heavy machine, and it measures about 17 1/2 inches by about 15 inches, including the side knob. It is about 6 inches without the legs opened up on it. The glass you put the material on to be viewed is 11 1/2 by 11 1/2 inches, with a black frame in it. Some of this frame is peeling, it is on the inside, I do not know if it can be fixed or if is needed. You would have to take it apart to do that, and I did not want to try doing that. There is also a socket on the side for a 3 pronged cord, but, this only has the cord that is attached to it underneath that pugs into the wall to make it work. I really do not know much about these things, and again, it is being sold AS IS, and hasn't been used in a while. Please use the postal calculator to determine the cost of postage to the U. S. The very expensive predecessors of today's video projectors, this projector uses a very efficient, pure white"metal halide" bulb similar to"HID" car headlights, and drives 575 watts through it for an intense picture suitable for large halls and near open windows. Very few were made(the other model appears to be 3M 9850. To which this is very similar but that has a more rounded body style) But the Dukanes, at least, takes a common"HMI 575W" theatrical-lighting bulb likely to remain available and affordable. The bulb lasts 750 ... morehours- hundreds of lectures- and is a common"HMI 575W" variety but requires mechanical and electrical skill to replace(the manufacturer recommends a technician do it) I newly replaced it. With the timer reading 784.8 hours, but was not able to reset the timer. Replacing the bulb on time is important because it will not necessarily just burn out: it may explode. Well enclosed, but still not a desirable occurrence. Due to the extremely intense light and associated"heat" rays. I TURNED IT ON AND ALL OF THE LAMPS CAME ON. I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT IT OR EVEN HOW TO OPERATE IT, HOWEVER, IT DID COME WITH THE ORIGINAL OPERATING MANUAL.THE EXTRA NICE CASE BY ITSELF IS PROBABLY WORTH MORE THAN WHAT I'm ASKING FOR IT. Dukane Quantum 680 Metal Halide Overhead Projector with 417+ Hours Left on Lamp!
This is a used overhead projector with it's power cord. It only has 332.1 lamp hours used(they recommend changing the lamp at 750 hours) As you can see from the pictures. The arm works just fine and you can lower or raise the head. The mirror on the head also holds position at whatever angle you place it. There is a little bit of rust on some of the screws, of which I took pictures. Please let me know if you'd like insurance on this item before you check out and I'll give you a quote.
