great quartersawn oak lectern or podium, great quartersawn flake, near mint
for auction is a wonderful old quartersawn oak lectern or podium. it is very well made and as solid as a rock and weighs a bunch. it has nice cutouts and moldings along the top and bottom and other places. it has an unique feature in that the slanted book rest adjusts to various heights. the adjustment mechanism is pictured under the top of the lectern within the large storage space inside the lectern. there is a door that opens in the back to allow access to the storage area under the lectern. the only thing to note is that there is a water ring on the top left hand corner of the piece. i put some new life on it and it rubbed out fairly well. the picture of the top however exaggerates the water ring. it looks nothing like what it appears as in the picture and can barely be noticed. i don't know why cameras exaggerate defects such as ... morethis but they do. i assure you it looks nothing like that. actually. The ring adds a bit of patina to the piece and it is something that i never worried about, however, should the new owner want it eliminated, i can do that for you before it is shipped. transportation is the buyer's expense or it can be picked up at my home. i can help arrange shipment if that would be of benefit to anyone. i expect it can go fed ex for about 225 which includes the cost of material to crate it. i use an antique mover for most furniture pieces i sell, but his charge would be 400 placed in your home or office. it is 36 inches wide, 21 inches deep, and 37 inches to the top of the lectern flattop. it is an additional 2 to 9 inches tall depending on how high you adjust the book rest. the book rest is 24 inches wide and 12 inches deep. the bookrest will lift completely out of the lectern and it could be used to place a television on or a microwave or many other objects. it can be quite a versatile piece. you would not need to cover the hole where the bookrest came out of depending what you used it for, but if one choose to do so, a piece of 1/2 inch marble could be cut and placed on the top if one

This is an antique Victorian solid quartersawn oak pedestal or stand with storage on one side. It measures aprox. 15" square at the top. 12" square at the bottom and is 36" high. It comes from a local Odd Fellows lodge or hall, the Odd Fellows are a lot like the Masons. There are some nicks and dings mostly on the sharp edges and some light scratches and dings on the top from use over the last 100 years, overall it is in good condition. We have more than one of these available and listed separately. It is available for pickup or can be delivered by Fed Ex ground for 39.80 including insurance to the lower 48 states.

The lectern features two brass handles and a roller at each base as shown in photos 7 and 8. Quite ornate and a very attractive piece. This unit is perfect for schools. Churches, seminars, libraries, etc. It measures approximately 32' from bottom to top of high side and 29' from bottom to top of low side, about 17' x 22.5' The bookshelf space is roughly 13.5' x 19.5' About 30 pounds. This was an intriguing piece from the very beginning. I recall that I happened to see it right after it had come in, it was lying on its side, and I asked whether it was a coffin! Adam stood it up and showed me what it was and how it worked. I had been drawn by its beautiful finish and simple lines. I could find no maker's mark, but Adam described it as mission style from the arts& crafts period. Unlike most lecterns I've seen, its door opens from the front, but it has a spring latch(not original) that keeps it closed. I have listed it as good condition for a piece its age. A large antique podium/ lectern stand. I believe this to be oak as it is very heavy. This would work nicely as a restaurant hostess stand with its flat surfaces for holding a lamp. Solid Hardwood Podium Lectern Foldout Sides With Teleprompter Mount & Rack
This is a used Podium used in a local court house. It is made of solid hardwood. Probably oak. It has fold out sides that extend the podium 3 times its size. There is a mount for a Teleprompter or a monitor in the center. If there is no monitor there is a fold out top that covers the mount with a top. The top slides out along with the shelf beneath it. There is also an equipment rack for mounting mixers. Amps etc. There is no manufacturers mark on this. It might even be custom made. But it is great craftsmanship and a very nice podium. I tried to cover as much as I can of the fine podium in the photos.

Vintage small podium in good condition. Looks to be oak but I am not a wood expert, measures 19 1/2 high and 17 by 12 inches for the top. There is a box for the top that looks like it is not as old as the podium, and the wood at the base may have been replaced because it looks like a different type of wood.

This is a Rare Vintage Metal Simulated Wood Oravisual Portable Folding Table Lectern Model#L303 with light made by Oravisual Company Inc. St. Petersburg Florida. It is used in very good condition with less than normal wear for use and age. It has very little scratching. It measures 21" x 18 1/2" x 3 3/4" when folded. It measures 21" wide x 15" deep x 13" from bottom to top lip(1/2" lip) of table. And 18" to top of light portion. It has two bars to lock sides in position and two scissor type hinges that also lock open. The light is 120 plug with button on podium to turn off and on. It is sturdy and all hinges work. The Upright section houses the power amplifier/mixer section and speakers for the system. One simply need to plug in a microphone or audio source and it works great. That said. There are a few minor issues that appear to have happened in original transit. There is a small hole about the size of a nickel in the grill fabric in front. Also, the bass tone control knob in the amplifier section slides a little bit. It still works but you have to grip it a bit when turning it. Both are minor issues and otherwise it's like ... morenew. It is missing the screws that hold the wheeled base onto the upright section so you'll have to hit the hardware store and pickup 4 screws(these thread into threaded inserts in the upright sections) Because of the nature we're selling this as-is for parts/repair. One will need to buy or build a the platform section for the top and to add a mic. This is your chance to save big-time for the do-it-yourselfer as these normally sell fro between $550-$750 each. This is a former rental unit and shows signs of use and wear but overall is in good. Used condition. The amp powers on but the microphone needs rewired onto the gooseneck. We tried several different mics on the aux input under the podium but these did not operate either so the sound system needs repaired. It does have a working light built into it so the lecturer can read their material. The access panel under the table top does not latch close. The tall storage space in the body does lock close though. This has rolling castors so it can roll when tilted backwards. Measures 47 tall at the front x 22 square.
