DA-LITE / Beseler VU-LYTE IV 12400 Opaque Overhead Projector - Tested and Clean
This is an excellent Da-Lite/Beseler Opaque Projector. The Vu-Lyte IV. It is in perfect working order and comes with both the document lift and the document conveyor(works great) Please review the photos closely, as there are some small paint knicks here and there, with the most being on the document lift tray and the actual lift. The tray is removeable, so it is easy to paint. The bulb, fan, focus and other features all work great. The on/off switch is a toggle as shown. Note that the middle setting of the switch runs the fan only, and this should be used to cool the lamp. Just like a slide projector, you MUST run the fan to cool the bulb down prior to shutdown, so the bulb will last. Otherwise the bulb life is greatly reduced. The Kees Postoscope is what is called an opaque projector. Place under it any opaque subject matter- magazine pages. Drawings, designs- and it will cast an image in an enlarged size on any object, while retaining all the original colors and proportions. It is not designed to reverse or reduce. The original price was $350.00, a mighty hefty price tag back in the 1950s. In the days before copying machines. Overhead projectors, and computers the opaque projector provided the only means, other than pantography methods, of producing an exact enlarged copy. Since the projector reproduced subject matter quickly, accurately and economically, it served as an incredible aid to advertising artists, sign ... moreshop owners and graphic designers. The Postoscope's lens consists of two piano-convex lenses. 3-1/ inches in diameter, mounted in barrel 5-1/2 inches long. The lenses are optical plate glass. Polished and ground with same precision used for eye-glass lenses, motion picture and still projectors. There are light sockets for two bulbs, each bulb can be a maximum size of 200 watts these original bulbs are both included and in working condition. The Postoscope has a heat resistant 6-foot lamp cord for use on any available current. The case is 11-1/2 inches high. 13-1/4 inches wide, and 9 inches front to back. It is pressed steel, finished in black, wrinkle-baked enamel with louvres in both the top and bottom for ventilation. On the top of the case is a black bakelite handle for carrying. Today the Postoscope is somewhat obsolete. But it is a great little tool nonetheless. This is a great tracer for any scale project. It is a very easy-to-use opaque projector. You simply place the projector on top of the image you would like to trace and adjust it to the size you want and start tracing. It is fast and easy. Enlarges from 2 up to 14 times original size. 120v, Lightweight. Completely silent, Great for tracing art. Patterns and designs. It comes with an energy-efficient bulb and the original user's guide. Simple on-off switch. I used this only once. The box is great from the front. But has a tear at the top on the back from when I was trying to open it. You can see in the second picture. This projector is in good condition and it works. There is a small crack on the top of the handle( see pic) When placed on an image(picture. Catalog page, etc. in a dark room, it projects the image onto a wall. It is good for painting murals on walls or painting on canvas.
