The label doesn't say what the gear ratio is. So I marked the larger sprocket and turned the knob. The counter counts 4.0 for each full turn of the knob. I started at 70.0 and ended at about 70.0, so that's 100/4 or 25 full turns of the knob to 1 turn of the sprocket(25:1 Ratio) The gearbox is small in size. It was used as a mechanical adjuster of a part inside the Polaroid machine. The housing itself measures about 1-1/2" x 1-3/4" x 1-3/8" excluding the shafts. Both shafts are 1/4" diameter. This is a pair of used high capacity. Right angle Davall gearboxes. We counted their gear ratio and our best guess is about 17:1. Our best measurement on the shafts is ~7/8” small shaft and ~ 1 1/2” large shaft. These items were removed from a very large CMM machine that was working when it was decommissioned for obsolete electronics. These gear boxes were used in the drive wheel unit to move a large precision granite measuring bridge. They have a tiny bit of surface rust from storage and can be readily move by bare hand, but we have no idea how much wear is on them or if they nead the oil replaced, so we going to sell them together AS-IS and price them low. Gear reducer , Right angle, 58 RPM out @ 1750 RPM in, 30:1, 175WB2A, Falk TESTED
This is a used gear reducer made by Falk. Model 175WB2A. We tested this using a 1/3 hp motor, and it sounded as it should, even with a small load on the shaft. This unit needs the input shaft seal replaced. This was discovered when turning it onto the C face flange. It still had a large amount of lubricant in it.
