This is a nice original World War Two. U.S. GI, Swivel Bale. Rear seam, M1 Helmet with a Westinghouse liner, khaki webbing. A later variation with blackened"A" washers. Both steel helmet and liner appear original and have what looks like normal service usage as witnessed by worn chinstraps at the bales and light dents. Top-center, showing worn original paint on both liner and steel shell, but no stress cracks. Nor major dents. The cotton HBT webbing is lightly soiled. And not broken, solidly mounted and not loose nor rusted. The leather sweatband is well used but not broken. The leather chinstrap is in matching condition, soft and flexible, unbroken and with a green finished cam buckle. The McCord rear seam steel shell is in nice condition. Vintage Westinghouse Helmet Liner C 1951 CAMPAC. This is a fantastic old olive drab helmet liner. First. The negatives. All around the bottom edges, there are various small chips. By and large, they are so small as to not even be noticed. There are also various scratches all over the body of the liner. The liner is made of wood. The inside is wood tone, the outer color is green. More accurately, olive drab. Inside the liner is a leather sweat band and webbing. On either side of the exterior you will find unit logos. Unfortunately, we have not been able to identify the particular unit. In the center of the liner bowl is the Westinghouse logo. There is also a CAMPAC logo, and the# 51. To our understanding, this number indicates the year the liner was made. Hence, this is a Korean war era liner. And yes, it was a war. Not just a conflict. Ask ... morea vet. This is a great old piece from that era. While there are some condition issues, it is clearly still excellent.

ORIGINAL WWII US ARMY 1944 McCORD HELMET. WESTINGHOUSE HELMET LINER 1944-45 This is an original McCord front seam swivel bale helmet with a Westinghouse liner. The shell has the McCord lot number stamped in it but it is to faint to make out the complete number. OD7 helmet chinstrap webbing. Flat black buckle, flat tipped J hook and steel rim date this shell to late 1944. There are NO stress cracks. It thought there was one in the back but it was a paint run. The cork finish is about 95%+. I saw a couple small rubs but nothing else. I believe this might have been repainted because of the paint run in the back and the two small rubs on the cork finish have paint on them. The Westinghouse helmet liner webbing is OD3 khaki and the A washers are black. From the features in this liner I date this one from 1944 thru 1945. No cracks. No holes, no ... moredamage I saw. Although I believe the paint is original, the liner may be repainted, I honestly don't know. The client I'm selling this for has a lot of liners some of them he repainted because the military had painted them different colors(common in the Navy, or for aggressor forces) If he did repaint this it was a well done job. The webbing is exceptionally clean but you can see a couple small burrs in it which show me this had a sweatband in it at one time. This helmet was in storage for some 30-40 years and was just taken out to sell. My client is now'thinning out the herd' so to speak. I am sorry. But the US Postal Service will only ship 1st Class to some countries and this package does not qualify for 1st Class. IF that happens and I cannot ship via Priority then I cannot ship this to your country PERIOD. I will also combine auctions and accept local pick up.
