This is not a $150-300 so called power conditioner where it protects against power spikes. This is a true conditioner. If the voltage goes down coming in to it.It raises it- if the voltage coming in goes high, it lowers& corrects it. Basics- too low or too high voltage can damage or destroy your expensive electronices. An old McIntosh or a new AB- electricity doesn't care& it flucuates anywhere you live& it brings noise. This should cure noise if its from your AC line but mostly will adjust incoming AC to stay& maintain the correct voltage. The fluctuations are minimized to virtually nil.
