Up on auction 4 RARE PIHER RESISTORS 68K 1W 5% They are exactly the ORIGINAL RESISTORS USED IN THE EARLY MARSHALLS. Really IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND. I found some of these in a old warehouse. But the avalability is really limited. The 68K are used in Marshall amplifier as grid input resistors. It's the first resistor that the signal meet, so its quality is ESSENTIAL for the SOUND. Using PIHER you'll mantain the ORIGINAL SOUND of the amplifier, and using a 1W instead 1/3W or 1/2W you'll reduce the overall noise of all the amplifier. These resistors are a great upgrade for all the other brand of tube amplifiers like Fender. Vox, Hiwatt. the're very musical and in this point they sounds better than the standard Allen Bradley resistors used on almost all the U.S. made amplifiers. Remember that in TUBE CIRCUITS is ALWAYS BETTER use BIGGER ... moreRESISTORS instead the standard 1/2W. Why doing so you reduce the noise. If you need info on this matter. That infact are less noisy, but they don't mention the fact that the SOUND of the metal film resistors on tube amps SUCKS. So. The thing I want to tell you is that, when using these 1W CARBON FILM resistors, expecially on the firsts tube stage, your amplifier will sound BETTER, expecially the MARSHALLS, where you have a very high high gain, and all the noise of the first stage is amplified a lot.
