Historic Rare Vintage Electric Fender Precision Bass Guitar 1953 Prototype relic
This is a(factory) modified 1953 Fender Precision Bass and case. A well known east-coast vintage guitar dealer purchased this bass from the estate of a Roger Binette. Who worked in the recording industry and who knew Tavares as a friend. As the story goes, Binette purchased the bass from Tavares as a memento and Tavares told him that the bass had been at the fender factory was used for testing new colors. Unfortunately there is no documentation signed by Tavares to firmly establish provenance. The bass’ neck bears the year date of 1953 and the bridge plate the number 0840. It is of interest that this bass was noted in the 1996 edition of the famous James Werner- Fender Serial Number List. It could be assumed that Binette sent the information. The instrument itself bears unusual features: an odd squared-off lower cutaway. Thin Lucite pickguard ... morepainted white underneath and made to appear more like a Stratocaster(and closer to the 1957 version of the Fender bass) and finally, an attempt at contouring the body. The neck features a mid-1960“Precision Bass” decal. The body is very worn revealing a succession of finish colors including Lake Placid Blue, Shoreline Gold and Dakota Red. Anyone familiar with the history of Fender guitars can surmise that there is more to this story. Freddie Tavares was hired by Leo Fender in 1953 and was asked to assist in designing the company’s new"Stratocaster" guitar. A follow-up to the"Telecaster" It stands to reason that the company would want their"Precision Bass" to complement the new model and alter its appearance to better match. To accomplish this, Tavares used this bass to redesign the pickguard(making it appear more Strat-like) and experiment with body contours. In taking this theory further– Fender probably postponed the bass redesign when the Stratocaster experienced initial production problems; so in the mean time this bass sat around the factory and was subjected to special paint jobs until it was retired to Tavares’ use. Wilson Prototype for Hyper Carbon
This is a prototype wilson for the HyperCarbon racket series. This racket was sent to a player who was ranked number one in the world in mens doubles at the time for play testing. It has been used but shows almost no wear at all. One scuff on the bumper guard is all. The racket was never painted and bears the designation A-2. The player at the time used wilson Profile frames and was issued a number of Profiles painted to look like Hyper Carbon rackets. I have a rather large collection of rackets that I must sell due to relocation out of the US. The rackets date from 1875 to modern times and there are examples of nearly every kind of racket made in that time as well as a fair assortment of autographed rackets accumulated over twenty years of attending the ATP tournament at Indian Wells. Sabian Prototype HH Ride 21" Jazz - hand hammered between 20 + 22 vault hhx aax
Special ordered from my local dealer about a year or two ago. I asked him to order me an HH Jazz Ride in a 21" as they only regularly make 20+22 in that. As you can see sabian chose to label it as"Prototype" and under that smaller"sabian under construction" Cost was around $400 i think. Original packaging bag included that says this as well(21 HH Prototype" as you can see in picture. It weighs approx 2400 grams(about 5&1/4 lbs) Has nice blend of stick definition, controlled semi dry wash, and a great clear bell that cuts perfectly with a pure pitched tone. I have many rides so some have to go. Not used very often as I have several rides I rotate for recording. Never played out(I dont play out) Great condition minus the usual stick marks and logo fade on top and bottom. The traditional finish is still nice ... moreand shiny, not tarnished or dull. No issues.no keyholes or dents or cracks or warps. Packed well shipped fedex ground. THE SOUND: Kind of a perfect all around ride for many styles. Not just jazz. Defined and controlled enough for most rock, fusion, and latin styles. Semi dry wash that never gets out of control build up.It shimmers just underneath the stick definition but always with control. Almost reminds me of a vintage K I used to have 20 yrs ago, but higher pitched more controlled. This is a great ride. Up for auction is another one of my goodies I purchased from John Duda. Owner of the Calicchio company when he was still in Tulsa. I used to frequent the shop about twice a month and often pestered him to sell me cool stuff he was not using. I have one other rotary block I am going to try to make a flugel out of, because it is a.416 bore.but THIS block is a.433 bore and is much more suited to a piccolo trumpet build. This thing was bought by the Calicchio family years ago in a play to develop a rotary piccolo horn. It apparently was not something Dominick favored, because it was put aside and sold with the company in 2000. John Duda had no interest in it, so he sold it to me. I could never rake up the spare parts for it, so I shelved it for the last 4-5 years. But it is a Rotax, still used by the Willson Co. of Switzerland, so it is a viable ... morepiece. It may look old and grungy, but it has never seen play time as a horn.only soldered together as a prototype, and not put into production. St Petersburg 209N CC Tuba (Prototype)
I have owned this CC St. Petersburg since before the production models were available. The Tuba Exchange offered the prototype units for sale as the production units were beginning production. I played about 15 of these models at the store and found this particular one to be far superior to any of the others available at the time. I've played production units since then and I feel this one has superior playing characteristics to those. The horn has some minor dents and blemishes on it. Including joints that were unsoldered and resoldered as part of the prototype design process. The intonation across the full range is good and response is clean at any volume. If you are looking for a good intermediate to professional tuba good for use in small or large ensembles, then this is the horn for you. The only reason I'm selling it is I am ... moretraveling the inevitable path of aging and scaling down my performance load. I play this horn less than all the others, so it is time to go for this one.

F BESSON VERY EARLY SILVER PLATED TUBA C1895 WITH BRIGHT CUT DECORATION"PROTOTYPE" History of maker/ factory: Gustave Auguste Besson(1820–1874) created the Besson brand in Paris. His instruments became famous in Europe. And he has been credited with over fifty inventions. Following Gustave-Auguste Besson’s death in 1874, the company changed its name, becoming Fontaine-Besson in 1880 in France, and Besson in England. The model number is 69670 just below one of the valves. This would date the instrument to around 1895. It has on it in 3 places'40 medals of honour' and is monogrammed in one place'fb' it has a five pointed star and says'brevete' Now for the health warning: there are defects with this instrument. It is not in working order and has 2 of the 3 valves missing/ in need of fixing. This is a beautiful Michael Jordan engraved or etched Silver Collection gold and silver coin or medallion from the late 1990s. Manufacturer unknown. The diameter of the medallion itself is 1 3/4 inches. It appears to be solid silver with gold plating but I can't be sure. It is permanently set in a glass or lucite base that is one inch thick. The total weight of the medallion and base is 7.4 ounces, not counting a glossy beige gift box that has SILVER COLLECTION embossed on the top. This was obtained from a former Upper Deck Authenticated employee who worked there in the late 1990s and may be a one of a kind prototype or sample. A RARE. Well I looked all over the internet to try and find another bedpan that looks like this one. with no success. therefore I guess I can use the word RARE. A Metal Enamel Granite Ware Bedpan with a lid that covers both the center hole and the urenal.in overall very good condition but there are some chips to the blue highlighted edging and there some spots of oxidation. West Lafayette Ohio is the next town down the road where the Jones Metal Co is located and they were the makers of most of the bedpans ect that you see listed on ebay. based on the differances of this one and the others I am"Guessing that this was a Salesman Sample or Prototype that most likely never went into production" Now there is no way I can prove that. The main blade is etched with W.R. Case& Sons. The tang stamps are" W.R. Case& Sons. Bradford PA 19 USA 93" and"Tested XX 72007 1/2" All the Case knives of this particular model were very low runs. a group of five items that I believe are medical related. Appears to me and those I have shown them to as being hip prosthesis, these are in group just as I found them wired together with a tag that reads"1100200 Berlin 7-1-00" I found these at an estate sale and was told the owner tagged everything he purchased, tag notes are item number(1100200) location purchased(Berlin NJ) and date purchased(7-1-00) they are all different with no two being exactly the same, two larger ball ones are 7 and 8 inches long, the two smaller ball ones are 7 1/2 and 11 1/2 inches long, the hook is 11 inches long, I can not see any names or numbers, I do not know what they are made of but a magnet does not stick to any of them, I have no idea how old they are or true purpose, prosthesis? molds? prototypes? teaching aids? or what, look at the pictures ... moreand decide for yourself, I will not remove items from the wired bundle and am selling just as found as is. This guitar features a mahogany body and neck and two humbucker pickups. This guitar is in very good overall condition. There are some light marks, but nothing significant. The neck feels and looks good, frets show little wear. The action is nice and low. The electronics work properly and the guitar has a nice sound and full tone, however the input jack cuts out a bit and could use some attention. Lastly, everything looks to be all original. Click to Enlarge Click to Enlarge Click to Enlarge This is an original vintage late 1930s era press photo which I believe shows Igor Sikorsky in an experimental aircraft which I think is an early prototype of what would become the VS-300 Helicopter. This photo measures about 8" x 10" and shows a group men in a military hanger with large airships visible behind them. I believe Sikorsky is standing behind the cockpit in the center of the photo. The experimental aircraft is attached by cables and wires to what looks like the underside of a large airship which is partly visible with a large AAF insignia. This photo came in a group of 1930s and 1940s press photos but doesn't have any caption card or information on the verso. I am not an expert but the guy in the photo bears a striking resemblance to Sikorsky so I think it is him. ... morePlease see the photo and judge for yourself. In addition, the painted or non-painted joint connectors were switched or altered most likely to prevent smearing. The packaging cannot quite support the weight of the figures inside it. Or it was sealed with an insignificant amount of glue. So the blister is coming loose at the seams. The figure does not properly fit inside it's plastic mold. ESP LTD EX-250 "Explorer shape" PROTOTYPE with HSC, Looks Great! Korea
I purchased this guitar recently thinking I would hot-rod it with some active pups and do some shredder-recording. But I've run out of"project time. This guitar is practically new and is in excellent shape. I have not modified it in any way. It still has plastic stuff to pull off of covers and pickups. I'd give it an easy 9.5 out of 10. This guitar actually feels GREAT. It plays like a light Explorer in some ways. It's MUCH easier on the shoulder. The sound from the Seymour Duncan Designed pickups is excellent- they're kind of like Asian JB and Jazz pickups to my ear. This guitar is not the typical Indonesian or Chinese low-end LTD EX. It is a nicely-crafted. Carefully-made Korean guitar. I'm selling and shipping this monster in a real ESP EX hard case. It's a form-fit case that does an excellent job of protecting ... moreyour machine! The case had a sticker or three on it. Has a game token glued to it, and has some scars, but is in OK shape overall. It does add to the shipping weight a good bit because it is an oversize case. WASHBURN WI-66PRO-E Extremely RARE Prototype This auction is for an Idol Series Pro guitar with a twist: it's the PRO-E. The"E" stands for EMG. As this guitar features EMG 81/85 pickups straight from the factory. The PRO-E never went into full production as such. It was the prototype for the Nick Catanese model, and from what I can gather around the'Net, only 46 were ever made. I have now owned two of them, because I really like this guitar. I will list it's great features below. However, I have nine guitars right now. Most of them high output H-H pickup configurations, and I don't even play gigs, so I can't possibly justify having this many guitars that do essentially the same thing. I build my own guitars now, too, so those are the ones I'm keeping. This is a Korean-made guitar. With the following high-end ... morefeatures: Black flame maple top Ebony fretboard Set neck EMG 81/85 pickups Abalone gothic cross inlay at 12th fret Neck and body binding Grover 18:1 tuners Buzz Feiten tuning system Washburn hardshell case I also had a custom truss rod cover made to go with the gothic cross motif; however. I am including the original truss rod cover as well(which just has the model name on it) The case is made for this guitar, but it does have one"foot" missing. It doesn't impact the case's performance at all, I just like to mention any defects I'm aware of in the auction, even minor ones. This guitar absolutely shrieks and squeals in typical EMG fashion. And its weight and set neck make it sustain for days. It's a great guitar, in my opinion, which is why I have hunted down two of them over the years. Note that parcel shipping is $40. Sorry. That's not my fault, shipping costs have gone way up in the last few years. The pictures show both sides of glass, it is only 6 glasses. This very rare set of 6 glasses is 6 1/4" tall. Normally you see these characters on a thin glass shell that comes in a tall and short version. These are on a Brockway glass with only about 6 of each ever made. These prototypes were used as salesman samples and 3 of the glasses still have the brockway stickers on the bottom of the glass. K&M Two Rock Bill Krinard Prototype Tremolo Amplifier
Up for sale is an amp that was built by Bill Krinard. Who is co-founder of K&M Analog Designs(better known as Two-Rock amps) and IS NOT a part of their lineage of amplifiers. This is the prototype of the first ever tube tremolo amp that Bill designed, which later became the Matt Schofield amplifier. This a 50 watt tube amplifier with tube tremolo and tube rectified. I included a picture of the inside of the amp to show that the amp was built with 90 percent of NOS parts and the output transformer was switched out for more clean headroom and overall power. There is no decal on the front facia of the amp because this was built a long time before anything was ever put into production. The amp sits in a custom black suede cabinet, which was built by Taylor Cox from Amplified Nation. There is no better amp in the world than this one. I think this is for the Prototype, Phantom, and Glenn Tipton model guitars. I got this as an empty case and don't have any of those instruments available to check the fit, so please pay attention to the dimensions below and photos. Good condition. All latches and hinges work fine. Handle is orginal and in great shape. Some corrosion on the metal hardware, a few minor nicks and scratches in the vinyl covering here and there. No funky smells. There's no accessory compartment.no apparent trace of there ever having been one, but there probably was originally. Age unknown. But I'm pretty sure it's ca. 1980s-1990s. I could find no other copy of this piece, one source told me Boeing got the contract to participate in the design in 1970 and this was a prototype drawing, there were limited copies given to executives, I have found nothing on the artist or any other copies of this. On October 28, 1969, barely three months after Apollo 11 carried the first astronauts to land on the moon, The Boeing Company wins a $19.6 million contract to design and build a motorized"moon buggy" that will give future astronauts far greater mobility on the lunar surface. Science-fiction writers and far-sighted scientists and engineers have been speculating about what such a vehicle would ... morelook like since early in the twentieth century, but it will fall to Boeing to move the concept from speculation to reality. The company does so in the remarkably short span of 17 months. Despite running massively over budget, the first fully operational lunar dune buggy, Rover 1, is ready to fly to the moon when the Apollo 15 mission blasts off from NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida atop a Saturn V rocket on the morning of July 26, 1971. On board are astronauts David R. Scott(b. 1932) Alfred M. Worden(b. 1932) and James B.
