Dental Drill Antique SS White Cable Engine Cast Iron Foot Manual Hand Piece 1903
Excellent antique dental drill. Has a patent date of March 17 1903. Has pictured cord that is knotted in a couple of spots and does not fit around wheels. When the top wheel is spun you can see/feel the cable spinning at the other end near the hand piece. But the inner part of the hand piece(where the bit would go) does not spin. I am not sure and make no guarantees of the potential or ease of refurbishment. The wheel turns nicely when the pedal is manipulated, and as a whole the unit seems like it would function well from pedal to end of cable with a belt attached. Weighs 23 lbs and stands 55" tall. Measurements are approximate. The piece will be shipped in 1 box, but 3 pieces as the crossbar and cable, center vertical shaft and the engine part seperate easily. Dentamerica Rotex 780 electric lab handpiece. Unit is used and does exhibit some signs of wear from typical use. I don't know too much about these. But I could not get the foot pedal to work. When you turn the hand piece, it does initiate the hand piece to the desired variable speed.
