Different sized porcelain knobs that are dirty but are wonderfully old and original. Old paper lines the slide out drawer and there is barely any left. It's warped and worn as well as dirty. This is a very pretty set of two antique Limoges plates. They are done in a fruit theme. Unlike many of the other Limoges. Each one is hand painted and the artist signed the back of one plate. One has cherries and the other berries. Very colorful, very vibrant. Each plate is scalloped and trimmed in gold accents. Artwork is very good on both. Condition is very good as well. It's definitely not American and is likely from England or points East. It has some nice detailing. Adorable knobs and a pleasant color. It's a soft yellow/ butter/ cream color and has red trim. The paint is probably original and is worn, chipped and nicked here and there. It's old, it's Primitive and the paint is all patina-ed aged just the way we like it. It likely would have hung on the wall. But it even looks cute sitting on the floor. There are 3 little drawers in the middle. The two on the outsides measure 4.25" W x 5" D x 3" H. The middle is a little larger and measures 7.75" W x 5" D x 3" H. The drawers are dovetailed/ mortised as ... moreyou can see in the pictures. Then there is a shelf above the drawers and it's 7.75" H and two shelves below the drawers. The middle shelf is 9.75" H and the bottom shelf is 9.5" H. The whole cabinet measures 32.25" W x 34" H x 7" D and weighs 25 lbs. Check out the nice detailing on the side panels. There's a nice scrolled cut out that's oval in shape with some cuts out of it. There are two turned balusters. One left and one right. The drawers have some nice wooden drawer pulls as you can see in the pictures. These look to be original. On the back of the cabinet it's never been painted. Except for a little spill over from the front. There look to be some square nails(see picture of the back) but most of them are round nails with some slotted screws here and there. The left and right panels were cracked at one point and the right one has some damage at the top. Shown in the pictures. Primitive Hand Made 27 Drawer Storage Cabinet Made with Cigar Boxes - Best Paint
Offering for sale is a SUPER primitive cabinet in good condition! Purchased recently at a farm sale- this is such an unusual and unique primitive RED 27 drawer storage cabinet. Drawers are made from wooden cigar boxes and some of them have beautiful vintage designs- some are pretty plain and all have painted black sides. There are two missing drawers- these may be replaced. Some of the drawers are longer than others. The cabinet is deeper than the drawers so they can slid deeper into the frame. I would put wood block or stops inside the cubby holes to keep the drawers from going so far inside. I used a pair of tweezers/ tongs to reach some of the drawers knobs when I tipped the cabinet back when moving from place to place. Between two drawers there is a piece of painted red veneering missing The cabinets size is 17 1/8" tall x 24" ... morewide and 11 3/8" deep. As you can see from the photos the drawers are different sizes. I believe this cabinet was made in the 1930's but am not sure. Very heavy- weighs about 32 pounds un- packaged. This could be used in garage for nuts and bolts. Kitchen for spices. This would be a great addition to your collection. RARE c1940s 4' tall iron INDUSTRIAL CABINET, 33 WIRE DRAWERS, ORIGINAL PAINT
Up for Auction is an INDUSTRIAL CABINET like I have never seen before. This is a well built piece. The cabinet is iron and I believe was hand made buy the owner to fit the wire drawers. There are 33 wire drawers. Some are marked MID WEST WIRE-DETROIT. Eleven drawers have two dividers in them and two have one divider. Some of the drawers have a silver color, some silver and rust and some rust. The cabinet has most of it's original green color. I cleaned and put a flat lacquer on it to help keep the rest of the paint on. It now has a nice clean surface to the cabinet and drawers. The cabinet measures 4' tall x 42 3/4" long x 16" deep. The drawers measure 14 1/2" long x 12" wide x 2 1/2" tall. It's a heavy piece and because of that would have to be picked up. Delivery within 150 miles could be arranged for ... morea modest fee. Description This is an antique cabinet that came from the Monomoy Life Saving Station that was located in Chatham.Ma and eventually located to Provincetown. The cabinet came from the family of Robert Ellis who was a Captian of the Monomoy Iife Saving Station back in the 1920s. The family had a sale of the contents of the house(located on Church Street in Chatham,Ma) and i purchased a number of items and i will be listing them on Ebay over the next several weeks. Robert Ellis is a documented Captain at the Chatham Life Saving Station back in the 1920s. Robert Ellis, also a carpenter, constructed the house he lived in on Church street back then and it was handed down in the family over the years. I also will be listing some furniture that Robert Ellis built that was used in the Life Saving Station. The cabinet measures 21.5 inches in frontal ... morelength, 17.5 inches in depth, 25.5 inches in height. It has 2 iron handles on teh side for easy carrying. It has 1 drawer on the interior but has slats so it may have taken more drawers at one time. The cabinet is all dovetailed construction on the corners, pictured, so it is hand made of quality construction. It has an old layer of green paint and it looks like there might be even older green paint underneath that. It has the original lock on the door but is missing the key. It reminds me of the USLHE book cabinets that were passed from one station to another that are highly sought after. On back it has the USLSS MONOMOY STATION impressed into the wood so it may have been made by a professional company that made furniture for all the Life Saving Stations or was locally made for this specific station. I have added 3 pictures of the USLHE cabinet that is very similar to this. If it were stripped of the paint there might be some lettering underneath the old paint. There is some minor water damage on the lower right corner, but the wood is still in good shape. Original hardware is rusty, but hinges and latch still work and have been lightly polished to smooth the surfaces and remove loose rust.
