Original circa 1948 Chicago and vicinity road map that was made by Rand McNally and has advertising for Illini Motor Oil, Magic Aladdin gasoline and Blue Seal Tires. It measures 4" x 9" when folded and unfolds to 19 1/2" x 26 1/2" Map has surface, corner and edge wear: there is some scuffing around edges, tiny tears on folds, there is some discoloration on outside and interior map of Chicago has numerous brown discoloration which should be easily viewed on images. Vintage 2X5' PENNZOIL METAL SIGN motor oil gas tin OLD & VERY RARE WITH SEAL!
For your consideration is this VERY RARE Pennzoil sign. I can not find another like it on the internet. Measures 2x5' with a wood frame on the back making it about 1" thick. I've seen versions of this sign from the 1950s and 60s. But they do not have the Pennzoil quality seal in the lower left corner(see photos) This one also has"REG. U.S. and"PAT. OFF. under the bell, and says"PROPERTY OF THE PENNZOIL CO. in the lower right corner, also not found on the 50s and 60s version. I found this sign and others of similar vintage tucked away in the attic of an old car repair shop that was built in the 20s, and I estimate this sign to be from the 30s, though it is not dated. The photos show its condition: the paint is solid, though it has scratches, light surface rust in places, and stains. It is still held solidly to its ... moreoriginal wood frame with only its original nails. The frame is solid except for one corner(see last photo) Despite that damage the sign is solid and hangs nicely. I count 9 nail holes in the black border that were used for mounting purposes. Vintage Gulf Oil Metal Tin Tab Seal Cap
This metal tin cap measures 2 3/4" in diameter excluding the tabs. T his is a drum bung seal for 32 and 55 gal drums. The large one is for the pump bung. There is a smaller one for the vent. 1967 piece. Thanks to a savvy ebayer I now have the correct information! The cap has a slight bend near the top tab. The tabs were never pulled off. It looks like a screwdriver was probably used to take the cap off the drum. I found this at an estate sale. Shipping comes with a tracking number.

**WAX SEAL!!!** - "Finely Painted ICON, OIL on CANVAS & TREE BARK," early 1800's
I bought this Icon from someone who had gone to an estate sale a good while back. If you can see in the pictures. There is some writing on the tree and around the inner perimeter of the wax seal on the back. They said that it is a Russian icon, and to me it appears that the text is in the Russian language. Is it German, or Italian, or Russian- i'm not quite sure, but it is very impressive. CONDITION& DESCRIPTION: You can see in one of the photos that there is some paint chipped from off the left upper corner. The canvas is not torn in that spot. Just a small section of the paint has chipped away. Also, at that same corner, the corner of wood underneath the corner has broken off(that is probably when the paint chipped off. There is some small paint chipping around the very front outer perimeter. There are some very tiny nicks sort ... moreof around the feet of the Saint that is standing up(you might have to magnify the photo to even see them) Wax Seal: The image that is stamped in the center of the seal appears to be either a large church or a cathedral type of structure. There is 3 domes on top of the structure. With a CROSS on the top of each one. Around the inner perimeter edge of the seal has what appears to be Russian text, which goes completely around the circle. The is approximately 45-50 letters which are very hard to make out what they are. Some look like symbols rather than letters. Nails: The nails a funny shaped. None that i have ever seen. The shaft are more oblong than round, and the head of each seems different shaped than one another.
