He found that the elements meter tested good. He did find two blown fuses and determined the transformer was also bad. The two fuses traced back to the transformer. Antique Electric Heater Lindemann & Hoverson Industrial Steampunk
Early industrial space heater. Electric by Lindemann& Hoverson. Large 12" solid copper reflector, Art Deco/ Moderne style cast iron base. Has none of the safety features required on modern space heaters, definitely looks like it would put out quite a serious amount of heat! Use cautiously(at your own risk) with some ordinary common sense, please, if you are planning to restore it& fire it up. I don't know it this heater works or not. Looks like it probably does, but it is untested. Sold as-is. It will need re-wiring, part of the cord was badly heat-damaged, and was removed(about 6-8" or so) There is a usable length of cord left. Rest of the cord looks like it is probably in ok condition, but buyer should verify that the cord is safe to use. Both cord and the original round plug, attached to the cord, are included but ... morenot shown in photos. Also, the cord will be packed loose, not wired up to the heating element. Inner wires are insulated using a lot of strands of what appears to be cotton or maybe rayon cord. Old style plug is a simple 2-prong, without a wider/polarized blade. The whole heater. Reflector, base and all, was painted plain institutional grey when I acquired this item. Much of the awful paint has already been removed, especially from the reflector(where it shouldn't have been, anyway) but there's still a bit of work needed to clean this up, if you are planning to restore the original appearance. Heating element unscrews like a light bulb. Uses mica. A natural mineral, as insulation(this is fairly common on older electrical items and particularly for heat-producing items) The wire heats up like a toaster element. Looks intact, but have not tested it in any way. Restoration possible. Also great to use as a source of interesting and unusual parts, industrial/ Steampunk project or? Copper reflector is solid, not plated or a copper-look finish. Approx. 5 lbs. solid copper, was originally highly polished to a mirror finish. Really quite beautiful! Carefully shipped. Total box we

Antique Electric Wall Bathroom Heater
Offered for sale is a antique electric wall heater. If I were to guess. I would say it was circa 1940-50. It is chromed and still works. The coils are a little twisted but that doesn't impact its ability to heat up a room. I would not use this item for its original purpose(heating a bathroom) but is being sold as a collectible someone could put in a bathroom(unconnected) as a period piece. Inc. Volt 110, AMP 5.5, MOD 11, Patented Nov. 27, 1917- Patent Pending’ The heater measures 17 inches high. 12.75 inches at the widest part, and the base is 8 inches in diameter. The base appears to be chrome and is weighted with cast iron. The heat deflector/shield and wire cage appear to be copper. The base has some oxidation and some of the chrome is flaking off. But no major structural defects. The cord is not original to the piece; however, it is also vintage and functional.
