This is similar to the regular 4 port pressure switch, but this switch is equipped with heavy duty 26Amp contacts to provide a longer lasting switch in demanding applications. A vintage foot operated electrical switch. I know how it functions. But I do not know its originally intended application. It functions only as an on/off switch, but it does not click on and click off. Any connected device operates only so long as the foot pedal is maintained in a depressed position. As soon as your foot is removed, electrical current is interrupted. It does not function as a speed control or dimmer device. The foot pad is about three inches square and the cord in about 6 feet long with a 2-prong male/female combination plug. Once connected to an outlet. Thank you for looking. This is A super heavy duty switch Made by GE General Electric the housing is made of cast iron as well as the pushbutton for the switch. This small control switch weighs 6 lbs 8oz. The number on the nameplate is CR2940– NH101B and is rated for maximum of 600 V. There is no rating for amperage. The picture shows the inside of the control and the contacts and terminals. The terminals and contacts are in extremely good condition. The contact"feet" are not discolored or"pitted" The inside of the switch has eight terminals four sets of contacts two sets of contacts that are normally closed when the red pushbutton is up. When the red push button is pushed down two sets of normally open contacts close and the normally closed contacts open. The switch is spring loaded. The switch is in the normally up position ... moreand spring-loaded so when it is pushed down it does not stay in that position it returns to the"up" position when pressure is removed. Vintage Mercoid temperature control switch, brass fittings, intact Mercury tube
This is a vintage Mercoid temperature control switch with brass fittings that came off of an old furnace. The plate states"Fig. 35. 110-200, single pole, single throw, circuit opens on rise in temperature" among other data. The Mercury-filled tube inside the device is intact, although I do not know if the instrument is in working order. The circular main component with the glass window measures 4.75" in diameter. This would make a great repurposed piece for industrial decor or a Steampunk project. I have left about 4.5' of old electrical cable on the device, but I can remove if the buyer requests.
