Up for auction is an antique Chinese. Bamboo, carved, calligraphy, brush holder. I found this at an area thrift shop with a handwritten note inside of it that explained what it was. I don't know much of anything about Chinese brush holders. My eyes were just drawn to the color and carving on the holder and I could tell that it had some age to it. As you can see from the photos it appears to be in great condition. With a few nicks around the edges of the top and the bottom. On the leaf to the upper left of the flower, above the bird, there is a nick out of the wood. On the end it says German silver and the real bristles are set in a wooden base. It has been stored away and doesnt really look like it was ever used. I have purposefully not cleaned it and just left it as I found it. The patterning I believe is the turn of the 19th to 20th century and looks to me like it is Victorian/ Art Nouveau. Antique Sterling Silver Dresser Set; Brush, Mirror, Nail File
This Sterling Silver dresser set dates from the late 1800's. It is engraved with the name"Elva" We have left it unpolished. There are Sterling marks on all three pieces. The insert that holds the bristles is a little loose in the brush handle. There is also a small crack on either side of the back of the brush. There are dents on the handle of the nail file. I've tried to take photos that show the flaws in these items. Please ask if you would like further details.

Vintage Sterling Brush A very nice early 1900's brush from a vanity set. The ornate top has deeply engraved flowers. And is monogrammed with what looks like the letters M& R. Along one edge is the hallmark"RW&S" with a stag's head. I believe this indicates R.Wallace& Sons silversmiths. In addition to the hallmark. There is patent date of 1902. The top of the brush is about 7 1/4" by 2" The bristles look like natural hair. They are held into place by a celluloid plate. The celluloid has a few small cracks. And one chip, shown in the pictures. All of the bristles are intact.

For auction is an exquisite Sterling Silver 3 Piece Vanity Set by Gorham in original case. This set was purchased at an Estate Auction and has been very lightly cleaned for the pics. It is pattern#23 with heavy floral carving. The mirror is appx 9.5” x 4.5” inside with the brush appx. 8.25" x 3” and the comb 7.75" long. All three pieces are stamped Gorham. Sterling, 23. This set is not monogrammed and in perfect used, displayed condition. I did not see any dings, breaks or scuffs. I don't detect any, but I would imagine if there were any light scratches, they would buff out when polished. I did find three hair brush bristles out of place(sticking out to the side) No teeth are missing on the comb but four teeth are slightly curved. Sterling silver .925 baby / child brush and comb set vintage but new in box
In as- found condition. A sterling silver baby/ child brush and comb set. The brush handle and backing are sterling silver, and the top of the comb is sterling silver. Both are stamped. I am unable to determine the makers mark on these or the company that sold them. Notice that the brush has a rose where the handle meets the brush area. Most that I have seen do not have this. The comb is still in the unopened plastic packaging and the brush has not been used. These are tarnished and I am not going to polish them prior to sending. There are some fingerprints on the back of the brush, but it is not damage. Because there is materials other than silver involved here, I have not weighed these. I would have to dismantle the items and I am not going to do that just to give a silver weight. I have listed some other silver baby items this week. See ... moreif you can use any of them!
