Here is a brand new Scribe 12 pitch typing element(typing ball) for an IBM Selectric I or Selectric II typewriter. This is an 88 character element. The original typing element(ball) designed for the original IBM Selectric Typewriters and later was the ball for the IBM Selectric II Typewriters, many of which are the famed Correcting Selectric II Typewriters. These elements do not fit the Selectric III typewriters. Which take a 96 character element(see my other auctions) This Scribe is a 12 pitch type style designed for general correspondence with a little different feel than the more common Prestige Elite and Courier 12 type styles. Variety is the spice of life and changing your type styles was the big difference with the IBM Selectrics when they were introduced with their variety of type styles you could change into. This is a vintage Smith Corona all metal blue Galaxie 12 manual typewriter in it is original case. This is a really great typewriter in excellent working condition- ready to start typing the minute you take it out of the case. It has features like margin set. Touch control, power space and it will take a 3 color ribbon- red, black and white or correction. It types really easily- keys don't stick, the carriage moves back and forth well and it doesn't bounce around a whole lot when you pound on the keys. I do not know very much about the background of this typewriter other than what I have learned from a similar Ebay listing for the exact machine. There may be a ribbon included but I am not sure. You can buy ribbons for $16 or so on Ebay. It has been kept in my mother's basement for over 30 years and she wants to sell it. I have no reason to believe it does not work. If it doesn't. Hello and welcome- Presented here today is an antique Hammond Typewriter. With serial number- AL215634 The latching carrying case with handle is black. And lined in olive velvet. It has a qwerty. Three bank keyboard, with glass keys. Covered turret. Condition: It was in very good cosmetic condition. With little oxidation. There are a few tiny chips in the black glossy paint. The keys look very good. The platen looks good. The keys strike. Bell rings, carriage moves and roller rotates. The decals are very good. The handle is secure. The latches close snugly. I think it could use a lubrication. And a general good cleaning. Problems: The carriage is slippery. And I believe a spring is missing or unattached. The velvet has ripped in the back. It is slowly deteriorating, and creating a fine powder. This I blew away with a can of air. The case ... morecover has some small scratches. Paint smears, and generally scuffing from use. With case it weighs about 17 pounds. There are 12 pics to look at for condition issues. SMITH CORONA Memory Correct II Electric Typewriter Script Font Vinyl Case
This is an electric typewriter from Smith Corona; it is their Memory Correct II model. It types in Script font(not exactly like that but similar. Nicer) and not quite as nice as this: Script font. All functions seem to work. We do not have the manual to see what all it can do. But you can probably find one thru Google or some other search. Machine is quite heavy(20# prior to packing it carefully) so FedEx is probably your best option. Typewriter measures approx. 16" wide x 15 1/2" deep x 5 1/2" tall at the back. It comes in a vinyl zippered carry/storage bag which has some rips in it(see last 2 pictures) I've carried the typewriter while in the bag with no trouble but if I were keeping the typewriter. SMITH CORONA Display Dictionary Typewriter Model NA3HH in Working Condition LOOK
For sale is a typewriter from Smith Corona. I haven't tested all of the commands so I'm not 100% positive that it is in PERFECT working condition. I just know that it does type. It has an ink ribbon and a correcting cassette in it ready to use. The typewriter itself could use a little cleaning up and has a musty basement smell to it(guess where it was stored at. Could also use a hit of an aersol can to the keyboard part of it. Also included is a 3 pack of correcting cassettes(I think they go with the typewriter? 1948 Remington Deluxe # 5 Typewriter/Needs a small spring that's it!
I have owned it since 1979. It was a gift from a journalist friend of mine. He purchased it after WWII,and carried in the Korean War and Vietnam as his primary machine as a Newsie. This is certainly a testament to the durability of these old Remington's! Recently it has started dragging. The space-bar and character keys hap-hazardly work fine and other times not. Thus I will sell it for someone whom has the experience/tools/parts to repair this 60+ year old, for it is in too nice of condition to throw out, and besides; it's a World Traveler that's been in two wars. The last picture shows a small spring which lightly activates the advance cog-finger each time you type. It appears to be stretched. However it is buried deep in the mechanism. I am not willing to attempt this repair myself for fear of ruining it. My computer-geek neighbor ... morewill only oil it for me. Not repair!
