Antique Vintage 1953 IBM Electric Typewriter SHOULD BE IN A MUSEUM
This is an early IBM electric typewriter. It probably belongs in a museum. It is written in pencil on the bottom that it was installed on 11-30-53. Also penciled on there it says PR 6-15-59. When you turn this thing on you can hear it power up and if you push a key down and hold it you will see it try to raise that letter up but it is not functioning properly. IBM Selectric III Correcting Electric Typewriter, Beige, works great
This is an IBM Selectric III correcting typewriter that is in great condition. It has been tested and is fully functional. Some of the number keys stick down a little and return up slowly. Needs a new correcting ribbon. It is pretty quiet when turned on and running. I have not attempted to clean it as to not cause damage. Could probably use oil or standard maintenance but is usable as is. This typewriter has the Letter Gothic type ball. The foam insides have been removed due to deterioration. This is a used item. Vintage IBM Mag Card Selectric typewriter board set. Two boards.
This is a spare board set for the IBM Mag Card Selectric typewriter. This was a typewriter that had a base unit containing memory and a magnetic card writer/reader. It would store what you typed. You could make changes without retyping the whole document and could make multiple copies having only typed one. All taken for granted today. But back in the early 1970's this was a big deal. There are two boards and two small jumper boards. These were supposed to be working but with no way to test them out. I must sell them as-is. RARE experimental early IBM electric typewriter card punch Westinghouse computer
This is likely a one-of-a-kind machine. It originally came out of the IBM typewriter collection and appears to be an experimental model for punching cards or something like that. Have a look at the wiring and added relays with marks in pen. When it's plugged in and turned on. The power roller does spin and the keys and carriage move, though they're sluggish and likely need some cleaning or lubrication. The keys on the additional keyboard on the side don't press down, and I haven't done anything to check to see what they may do. Note the added switch for type vs. punch. I don't know what the sockets on the back of the added keyboard are for. This is ONE heavy machine, coming in at about 60# before packing! Sold as seen- please email with any questions. Description Offered for sale is a pristine excellent used condition. IBM typewriter, personal wheelwriter, model number 6781, serial number 11-0234497, in working order. This machine was purchased and used by my mother at home briefly. Then put away in its cover for years. It weighs around 24 pounds and measures approx. 17 long X 18.5 across X 5.75 deep. It has been plugged in. Turned on and as you can see typed on. It worked like a charm, was just great. I am not an expert on typewriters. A few notes about the Selectric: Besides reliability. Versatility, and high print quality, the Selectric is fast. The inherent speed of the Selectric is more than 15 characters per second. And it has one keystroke of mechanical"stroke storage. That is, if you hit two keys very close together, the first one and the second one will both actuate, each in due time. Also, the force required by each Selectric key is about two ounces(30 g) to actuate it, and about half that to keep it down after it has actuated, which is less than other electric typewriters.

The one platen without gear is for Per. W/W and W/W1000. You can remove your gear and install on this if you can knock the pin out of yours unless yours is welded on then it might not work for you. The one with the white gear is a replacement gear which I also have for sell. These are obsolete parts very hard to find. They all cost the same just check with me on the size before purchase. The cost to replace would be around $150.00 to have yours recovered and you can get these for about half off. This brochure is four pages printed on slick glossy paper measuring about 8.75" x 11" I don't find a date on this brochure but it I believe this is one of the first if not the first piece of promotional sales literature produced by IBM for their electric typewriter. I believe the machine featured in this brochure is the IBM Model 01. The world's first commerically successful electric typewriter based on the technology IBM obtained through the acquisition of the Electromagnetic Typewriter company in 1933. None of the elements have any cracks that I can or broken points(gears) on the bottom. All appear to be in good working condition.
