Sears Word Processor Typewriter (Nakashima AX-60) 1980s, with supplies - WORKING
The Nakajima name is not a household word in the USA. But they made many models of their typewriters and other equipment under the Sears, IBM, Adler, and other names, at their factory in Japan and then in USA. This is a very full-featured model. BUT it works quite well as a plain-vanilla typewriter. Most of the special features are pretty easy to figure out kby experimenting with the"code" key and the LCD screen. The correctable ribbon in it works well. And I will include another unused one. Same with correction tapes, working one is installed, and another new one included. Correction tapes are the same as used in the Brother AX-GX-SX models, and other brands as well. The ribbons are different from Brother, but are used in other Nakajima products. Both items are readily available. This model uses daisy-wheel type print wheels SIMILAR ... moreto but NOT interchangeable with those in Brother. Smith Corona, and most other brands of electronic typewriters from the era. The one in it is"Prestige 10" which looks about like this. It looks good typed at ten or twelve characters per inch. There were other fonts available but I don't have any. All the keys work properly. They have a light touch like a computer keyboard. And deliver consistent impression on the paper.
