This item is in beautiful condition both mechanically and cosmetically. The two drive belts inside of the typewriter are supple and not dry rotted. The photos should show this. The hard sided case is in great condition also. I have only taken one photo of the case placing more importance on the typewriter itself. The inside of the typewriter has minimal dust/debris and cleaning would not be necessary for immediate use. Paper work is included as shown in the photo. The package itself has a different serial number on it than what is actually stamped on the inside of the typewriter. While I already had a computer I bought the typewriter to only fill in forms because that was hard to do on a computer in those days. Shortly after I bought the typewriter software improved and I no longer needed it. It ended up on a high closet shelf and hasn’t been used in nearly 25 years. But I tested the typewriter and it works great. The ribbon is still in the typewriter. It has cord storage and a built in handle for carrying. Vintage, Good & Working Smith Corona SCM 220 Automatic Electric Typewriter
Anyway. She is in pretty good condition and is pretty clean too. There was a nick in the cord but not down to the wire it was where the cord wrapper got caught on something and pulled into the plastic cord. I placed tape over it and it should be fine for many years to come there after. If you want to get her rolling in brand new condition, take her in to a shop and have her oiled and the rubber pulls replaced, though none of this is really necessary at all as she is just as lovely as she can be in her present state and would not be parting with her other then I am moving and needing to sell off my stuff so that I can down size at the same time as have always liked knowing I had her laying about just in case my computer broke and or there was something that just had to be typed like a particular label or what not as it is always good to have ... morea mechanical back up to our new electric devices and toys as one never knows what the future will bring and when you just may need that predecessor to get the right job done. Anyway, she is a heavy booger too at about 30-35 pounds so be ready for some lifting too. She locks securely in her case tray and does not pound about at all. I do not have the instruction book but those can be easily found anywhere on the web or here on ebay if you really need one to use her as you truly do not if you know how to type that is. There is normal wear of use but nothing that shouts out as a defect other then the scratch in the case and all of which is typical to this items age and use over the years. The rubber rollers are in good condition and grip just fine too she could just use a good oiling but again, that is not necessary either but would make her perform like she was new. Do not forget the touch roller underneath the exterior casing as I adjusted it for light touch and you will have to figure out your touch as it can cause skipping if you are heavy handed but then anyone buying this lil gem knows about this feature too, it is on the underside center to the space bar) She also come

Vintage 1960's Smith Corona Coronet Electric Portable Typewriter with Case
I used this typewriter in college in the late 1960's. Worked great back then. It's been in storage for close to 45 years. I plugged it in. Put in paper and typed randomly with all the keys. Everything seemed to work just fine. The ribbon is 45 years old but from the picture you can see the letters on the paper. It does however need a through cleaning as can be seen from the pictures. The carriage slides nicely. It weighs approximately 24 lbs. Color: Tan& Cream.
