Electric SMITH CORONA PWP 300 Personal Word Processor Typewriter, Manual & Cover
I don't know much about word processors and have never used one. That being said when this is plugged in. The power on, and screen up. It seems to type on the screen. Again, not really sure how to use this but the manual is included although I just glanced at it. It is dirty and dusty. But the cover latches fine and the cord/plugs look good. There may be other scratches/marks as well. This is being sold as is and untested. Although it seems to work just fine. I cannot guarantee that it is in 100% working order and any bidders should understand that. Unfortunately I just don't have the time to read the manual in detail and mess with it. This is the Model SD4600 Memory Typewriter by the Smith Corona Company. It works with a cartridge. There is one in it. I have used it to type a few lines and it certainly types and prints clearly. This typewriter can be used with the memory feature but I have no instructions available for it. The electric cord winds up and is stored at the back of the typewriter. The typewriter is clean and shows no signs of damage. This typewriter is large and heavy.The matching cover snaps into place but I definitely would not describe this as a portable typewriter. Smith Corona XL 1700 Electric Correcting Typewriter This typewriter has a lot of features- correcting cassette. Full line correction, WordEraser(erase an entire word with one key stroke) Auto Center(centers text between margins) Bold Print, Decimal Tab(automatically align numbers) There is no instruction manual with this so I didn't know how to test all these functions. However, I just searched the internet and Smith Corona has an online pdf document for the Memory Correct Typewriter at It had not been used in a long time. It took a little typing before the ink flowed smoothly again(see photo# 5) Types upper and lower case fine. I was unable to set the capitals' lock. Printing the sample demo worked fine. Photo 5 shows the keys typed; the automatic demo sample. And then the keystrokes again. Photo 2 shows it completely closed with ... morethe protective cover across the keys. The electric cord(photos 3 and 4) has a storage compartment which just snaps shut. Please note that inside the unit. I put some styrofoam and bubble wrap to keep the printer cartridge from sliding back and forth during shipping. This will have to be removed prior to turning on the machine.

I did lube the carriage on this one. Strictly from the OUTSIDE! and that smoothed out its movements nicely. It could use a thorough cleaning and lubing, but works fine as-is except as noted. It comes in its original hard shell case. Sorry. No manual. but this works pretty much like every other typewriter of the era(which would be the 1960s or 70s, more or less) It takes paper the regular direction only(if you want to turn your paper sideways. You need a typewriter ... morewith 12" carriage.which is even heavier than this one! The type face is Pica, 10 characters per inch, and looks about like this. This is what I consider a"second generation" electric portable. The first ones had powered print action only. And you had to stroke the handle to advance the paper and move the carriage to the right. This one also has"power return" a button on the keyboard that uses the motor to do these functions(thus the"automatic" name) A lever sets this for single, double, or triple space. You can move the carriage to left or right manually as well, and can roll the paper forward or back manually. Margins are set by pressing and moving levers back of the carriage- the right one has original plastic handle mounted; left one just the metal lever. But it is easily operated. Tabs set, release, and operate are by bars above the keyboard. Impression can be adjusted by dial 1-10 for making fewer or more copies. The finger pressure on the keys is always very light. Like modern keyboards. This uses standard 1/2" ribbons. The one in it is all-black; lever for setting upper. Lower, or no ribbon. There are bi-color ribbons available,

Here is a wonderful vintage word processing typewriter by Smith Corona. This was my personal typerwritter in college. It was used one year then went into my closet for never to see the light of day until just recently. This unit can either be used as a traditional typewritter or as a word processor which stores your data until ready to print. It also has a spell-right dictionary which beeps at you when you make an error. The unit was tested and all keys function properly. There is a ribbon in the unit which prints fine but the correction tape must be worn out. There is a nice snug fit cover to prevent any dust build up and to protect when transporting. You can see how well this works by the pictures. No dusting was required. That is straight from the closet condition. SMITH CORONA Memory Correct II Electric Typewriter Script Font Vinyl Case
This is an electric typewriter from Smith Corona; it is their Memory Correct II model. It types in Script font(not exactly like that but similar. Nicer) and not quite as nice as this: Script font. All functions seem to work. We do not have the manual to see what all it can do. But you can probably find one thru Google or some other search. Machine is quite heavy(20# prior to packing it carefully) so FedEx is probably your best option. Typewriter measures approx. 16" wide x 15 1/2" deep x 5 1/2" tall at the back. It comes in a vinyl zippered carry/storage bag which has some rips in it(see last 2 pictures) I've carried the typewriter while in the bag with no trouble but if I were keeping the typewriter. Typewriter SMITH CORONA Portable CORONET Super 12 Two-Tone Brown Electric Works
This is a handsome vintage portable. Electric typewriter from SMITH CORONA; it is their Coronet Super 12 Model. It is a 2-to ne bro wn with brown keys and a lighter brown space bar. All functions work well; I just tested it and it types nicely. It takes a slide-in ribbon cartridge which I believe you can find on line when this one runs out(see pictures#6 and 7) it slides in and out easily. Machine has a touch control switch on the left(as you face the machine) and a Power Return button. It has other nice features as well. Check out all my pictures so you can see the typewriter and case from many angles. It comes with a heavy. Molded plastic carry case measuring 18" wide x 6 3/4" high and 15 1/4" deep(front to back) Textured surface case is in good shape but does have some scuffing on it along with what looks like old white-out ... morestains. Smith-Corona Smith Corona Coronet 10 Electric Typewriter with locking carrying case and key. The typewriter locks in to the bottom of carrying case and can be easily removed by pushing in a button and sliding a lever. Instructions are printed on case. Typewriter actually works but is faint, I assume because the ink ribbon is old? The carrying case is missing 1 stopper/ foot on the bottom. Due to age needs a good cleaning, has paint spots on a couple of keys? And to be expected dusty from storage, case smells musty but in otherwise usable condition. I tried to take pics from all angles and show all flaws, but feel free to ask any questions you might have before bidding. Item is final sale/ No exchanges/ No returns. After closer inspection the power cord has several little indentions on it(possibly chew marks from a rodent? 1 very small place ... morenear the plug if you pull it apart you can slightly see metal wire underneath, it can be taped with electrical tape, again unit works this does not affect use.
