This auction is for a vintage SMITH CORONA CORONAMATIC electric typewriter in it's hard shell case. Manual and 2 ribbon replacement cartridges. It has been tested and it works wonderfully! The 2 cartridges are still in their original box and both appear to have never been used although I cannot be 100% certain. They do not at all look as if used. The manual is in good condition. The power cord is also in very good condition. The brown case is in good condition and closes securely however there must of been a handle attached to the two silver belt buckles because it is missing. Sorry. Here is a great Electric Typewriter by Smith Corona and is their Model Number XL 1700 and comes with it's original box and I've added in some Ribbon and a correcting cassette so that you can start typing right away. On the box it says that it can do: Full Line Correction. Word Eraser, Auto Center, Auto Return, Bold Print, Decimal Tab, Super/Sub Script, Dual Pitch and Daisywheel Printing. On the Ribbon, I had a dual pack which I opened to try the machine out so I used maybe around 1/8th of it and the other ribbon is brand new. On the Correcting Cassette, I found this one with the typewriter so it was already opened but doesn't look as if it was used very much. I found this in my Grandparents house where it was stored from at least the late 1980s. My Mom got it as a back up for her visits during the 1980s to early 1990s and then ... moreit was put into a closet from that time until now. I did try it and it works great. Smith Corona electric portable typewriter in case. The user's manual and two new/unopened correcting tapes are included. Cartridge in typewriter is partially used. New ones can be purchased from other ebay sellers. Typewriter was tested by activating the self demonstration program(see photo) to see if it works. Key strikes are smooth and crisp. All functions on the typewriter including the built-in 75.000 Spell-Right Word Dictionary, Automatic Memory Correction and Abbreviations also work. It does have a handle that folds down in back when not in use. This is a vintage 1960's Smith-Corona Coronet electric typewriter s/n 6S/E-254021. The typewriter is in very nice working condition and comes with the hard case& original key. A few minor scuffs on the outside of the case. Ribbon is legible but will need to be replace. Replacement ribbons are readily available on ebay. The functions have been tested and work great. Just a couple minor marks on the back side. Actual weight in the case is 24 lbs. Lots of typewriters out there but not many of this model.
