Rare IBM Correcting Selectric III Fiftieth Anniversary Model Typewriter 607X
You would not know this(Ball) Typewriter was over 30 years old. I checked all they keys and the Q sticks slightly. The correction tape and typing tape is still in it and works fine. Light scuffs from normal use. But nothing that stands out. For the writer that just can't bring themselves' to using a computer. The sound alone brings back memories. Thanks

Vintage IBM Selectric II correcting typewriter + tape spool R5181-6 + manual
I don't know much about this typewriter except that it's an IBM CORRECTING SELECTRIC. Comes with the operating instructions and a new box of tape spools. There are 6 unused spools in the box. This typewriter does power on and seems to type. However when I put a piece of paper in and type, it doesn't move so the letter type over each other. Might be an easy fix if you know anything about these things. I do have the instruction manual but not the time to tinker with it. I'm helping a friend sell this for her business. PLEASE NOTE: I'm not an expert on IBMs. Online information led me to think that Selectric IIs had white labeling on type balls with 80+ characters-like this one- whereas Selectric IIIs had yellow printing and 90+ characters. I don't know if that information is certain. So please use your own judgement. This was found with some others at a sale some time ago; I had used a Selectric in my office years ago, so I purchased them for nostalgia's sake. While several of the balls in the group were well used, this and a few others looked unused. I viewed it with a loupe, and the characters looked bright, smooth and had no ink residue on them. PLEASE NOTE: I'm not an expert on IBMs. Online information led me to think that Selectric IIs had white labeling on type balls with 80+ characters-like this one- whereas Selectric IIIs had yellow printing and 90+ characters. I don't know if that information is certain. So please use your own judgement. IBM Correcting Selectric II 2 Typewriter Working 30+ Yrs Maintenance Records EUC
This IBM Correcting Selectric 2 Typewriter is in excellent working condition. The machine has been tested and is running quick and quiet. This Selectric comes with a 12 pitch striker and a partially used ribbon cartridge. Body is in more than fair condition with minimal wear around the edges and corners. Overall this is a clean and fully functional piece of American craftsmanship and is solid as a rock. In 1973 the Correcting Selectric II was announced. It added an internal correction feature to the Selectric II. Intended to eliminate the need for typists to use cover-up tape, white-out" correction fluid, or typewriter erasers. The carriage on this machine held both the main typing ribbon cartridge and two small spools for a correction ribbon. A new ribbon type, the Correctable Film ribbon, was introduced at the same time. This produced ... moretyping quality equal to the carbon film ribbon, but with a pigment designed to be easily removable from paper. There were two types of correction tapes: The transparent and slightly adhesive"Lift-Off" tape(for use with the correctable film ribbon) Or the white"Cover-Up" tape(for cloth, Tech-3, and carbon film ribbons) The correction tape was changed independently from the typing ribbon. The correction key(an extra key at the bottom right of the keyboard) backspaced the carriage by one space and also put the machine in a mode wherein the next character typed would use the correction tape instead of the normal ribbon. And furthermore would not advance the carriage. The typist would press(and release) the correction key and then re-type the erroneous character, either lifting it off of the page or(if using other than the correctable ribbon) covering it with white-out powder, then type the correct character. This typewriter has been sitting in storage. It will need a cleaning and possibly some light maintenance. My personal experience are as follows: I cleaned the keys and they type well. The metal ball containing the letters and numbers. Works. The shift key works. There is ribbon. I have never used this type of typewriter before so I am not sure what else to check on it. I will be posting a video showing what it does. There is an online manual available if you choose to download that I came across while doing a Google search. I was given some information on this typewriter that"by pushing the chrome handles inward they could be adjusted by sliding the handles to the desired margins. This machine is a fabric model and will not make corrections. The person giving me this information also stated. this machine will not accept correction tape" ... moreI do appreciate the information and I do update the information as I receive it. This information I recently found online about this model of type writer: Correcting and lift-off options: The traditional late-1970s way to make corrections when typing was to use Ko-Rec-Type. A material like carbon paper, but white. You would hold a piece of Ko-Rec-Type between the typewriter mechanism and the paper, and restrike the incorrect letter, depositing white pigment on top of it. This worked with any kind of typewriter. The Correcting Selectric introduced lift-off tape. Which would actually remove carbon-ribbon ink from paper. Soon afterward(when Sperry Remington came out with their Selectric clone that LACKED the correcting feature) Lift-off tape became available in 1-by-2-inch tabs like Ko-Rec-Type. As far as I know, it is no longer made, but you can buy a roll of lift-off tape(any brand) and cut it into small pieces for handheld use. Lift-off tape works well if you are typing on smooth paper. 4 IBM Selectric Typewriter Ball Lot Scribe Adjutant Artisan & RARE Advocate
This is a lot of 4 IBM Selectric Typewriter Balls. One case is also in the lot that is complete and another case bottom is also included. The first ball is a Scribe. It is nice and clean and may never have been used but does have some of its jagged bottom edge broken off about 4 teeth. The second is an Adjutant, it has some red staining inside and might be missing its flip piece on top. Next is an Artisan which is marked 12 and 72, it shows some signs of light usage on the inside but is nice and clean. Finally there is what I believe to be a RARE example of Advocate. It has some red staining inside, but overall is nice and clean oustide. It has an unusual top piece that I am yet to see another of.
