IBM Type Ball DELEGATE 10 for Selectric II (?) typewriter, looks unused
Offered here is an IBM Delegate 10 type ball for a Selectric II typewriter. PLEASE NOTE: I'm not an expert on IBMs. Online information led me to think that Selectric IIs had white labeling on type balls with 80+ characters-like this one- whereas Selectric IIIs had yellow printing and 90+ characters. I don't know if that information is certain. So please use your own judgement. This was found with some others at a sale some time ago; I had used a Selectric in my office years ago, so I purchased them for nostalgia's sake. While several of the balls in the group were well used, this and a few others looked unused. I viewed it with a loupe, and the characters looked bright, smooth and had no ink residue on them. The only way I could show that in a photo was to put a light directly on it as shown in the fourth photo(otherwise shadows ... morein the characters make them appear dirty as they look in the first and second photos) I'm over 70 now and it's time to let go of nostalgic things. Vintage IBM Correcting Selectric III 3 Typewriter! Gothic Ball,Ribbon~FREE SHIP!
Since the early 60's. The IBM Selectric was the Cadillac of typewriters, becoming the workhorse of American business offices for two decades! In the early 80's. T his"Correcting Selectric III" was the last model IBM produced. Making it the most advanced, and most desired electric typewriter available. Recently the experience of actually"typing" has seen a renaissance due to the personal connection one experiences with the machine. There is nothing that can match the feel of an IBM Selectric typewriter. No more reprinting lists. Or printing envelopes 5 times because you just can't get it right with your PC. If you make a mistake. You can still make an easy correction by simply hitting the correction key! You can change Font type, or the size from 10 to 12, by switching out the element ball. The Letter Goth 96- ... more12 pitch ball is included. This Selectric III is in beautiful condition. Hardly showing a bit of the 30+ years it has seen. It is in excellent condition and operates flawlessly with all leavers operating correctly and all keys striking the correct letters on the test page shown. The third row shows the correcting feature also working. This model also has the state-of-the-art lighted margin/pitch scale which works great. Fully lighting the entire scale and switching from top to bottom scale when the pitch is changed. The only"flaw" I can see is the clear plastic sound-reduction cover does have a 2.5" scratch that can be seen in the pics.But taking into account the hundreds of moving parts that go into making this beauty hum, that's a small sacrifice to make! All the other accessories that are usually broken or just plain missing. Including the pictured"End-of-Page" support, acoustical hood and visor, are included. Included is a new black ribbon cartridge. The correcting tape, and the original power cord, all shown in the pictures. IBM Selectric ll Self Correcting Typewriter
This is a vintage IBM Selectric ll Self Correcting typewriter. It has an old ribbon in it and it is dried out and will need to be replaced. I tried all the functions I could think of and everything works. The machine had labels on it and I removed them and in the process removed a few small sections of paint. I should have left them on but they were curling up at the edges so I removed them. There is a tiny crack shown in photo three. It's right where the top edge and side edge meet. You should be able to see it with the mouse over feature. This thing sat in a barn for two decades and although all the functions seem to work fine. It could probably use an internal cleaning and lubrication of the moving parts. It has a Prestige 10(Pica 72) typing ball in the machine. It is heavy but I will put a lot of padding in the box. Vintage IBM Correcting Selectric II Electric Typewriter - For Parts or Repair
You are bidding on a blue vintage IBM Correcting Selectric II Electric Typewriter. Sold AS IS. It powers up and the motor runs. But it does not currently type. It was working up until a few years ago and has sat unused on a shelf in a climate controlled room for quite some time. At some point it stopped working. Cosmetically. It is in very nice condition. As you can see in my third photo. The thin metal tape that pulls on the ball to make it rotate is either broken or has come undone. In addition to that it most certainly needs a new ribbon and a good cleaning and may very well have other issues I am not aware of. It powers up and the motor runs. But it simply is not functioning.
