This beautiful writing machine was tip-top in its day and the craftsmanship and quality materials are evident overall. It has its original Italian keyboard configuration and good original finish overall. There is a broken platen knob on one side and it is dirty. One of the chromed knobs atop the left ribbon canister is rusty and someone wrote on the back with crayon as per the images. All of the keys work and the action is stiff. So cleaning is in order. GREAT CONDITION* OLD VTG 1950's OLIVETTI UNDERWOOD STUDIO 44 PORTABLE TYPEWRITER WITH CASE This offering is for an all original. Ca 1950's, Olivetti Underwood Studio 44 Portable Typewriter. The typewriter is marked"OLIVETTI UNDERWOOD" on the top front just above the keys. The back side of the typewriter has information stating it is a Studio 44 Model and that it was made in Spain. The machine is in great condition as seen both above and below, it has only the most minimal of wear, so much so in fact that it looks like it was used very sparingly. Also included for you to view is an image of an example of the typing. The machine types perfectly and quite easily. The typewriters keys are excellent and all of the moving parts seem to function properly. The paint is as close to 99% intact as you could hope to find and the names ... moreand markings are all in excellent condition, there is no rust on the machine and the original case is included. The case is in very nice, stable and usable condition as well with light typical wear to the exterior covering. The locking latch, hinges and handle work perfectly. Overall the machine seems to be a fairly scarce and especially so in nice usable condition such as this example, it displays beautifully and will make an excellent addition to someone's collection, shouldn't it be yours! Olivetti- Ivrea/ made in Italy is stamped on the top of the machine. is this from the 1950's? nice lettera 22 made from olivetti company. in very good shape with original canvas and leather case. i guess the case has kept this machine looking good. if you have any questions feel free to ask. thanks for looking and sorry no returns. this weighs about twelve pounds and measures approx. 14"x 13" x 3.5" that is with the handles folded for shipping. i have added a little better picture on the typeface? the f and j over print are my fault. This Olivetti Lettera 25(model NOM-354-1 made in Mexico) is the original tried and tested portable unit from prolific designer Mario Bellini. The Lettera 25 was first produced around 1974. And has swank Modernist contemporary style. It has a plastic housing in the standard tan/ off-white color with bright white keys and an enclosed underside, making it easy for lap-typing. The Lettera 25 is a lightweight portable model, and though it does not include its original canvas& vinyl tote bag, you can find a suitable replacement pretty easily that would be both an aesthetic and functional improvement to the original. It is in excellent cosmetic condition, showing only light wear. A few of the keys have scratches, and there is a slight discolored spot on the left top of the removable cover. Up for auction is this classic 1970 vintage Olivetti Lettera 32 typewriter with case. Machine is in excellent working order. There are some cosmetic rust spots on bottom and on a few of the keys as can be seen in photo. The zipper on the case works. The case has spots and scratches but is structurally sound. The ribbon could use replacing but has a little life left in it. The ladle on the carriage shows some wear commensurate with use. Great machine overall. Made in Barcelona Spain.
