Dual pitch(either 10 or 12 spaces per inch) and line-and-a-half vertical spacing. Like its predecessor. The Selectric II was available in standard and wide-carriage sizes and in various colors, including red and blue as well as traditional neutral colors. The Selectric II used the same typeballs, which were available in many fonts, including symbols for science and mathematics, script, Old English, and more than a dozen ordinary alphabets. The typeballs came in two styles: One had a flip-up black plastic lever that could break off, and the other had a metal spring clip with two wire wings that squeezed together and did not break. Over the years, there were several different cartridge styles for the ribbons, even in the same model Selectric, and they were not interchangeable. In 1973 the Correcting Selectric II was announced. It added an internal correction feature to the Selectric II. Intended to eliminate the need for typists to use cover-up tape, white-out" correction fluid, or typewriter erasers. This is a"found" in our office supply cabinet- item. At one time we did have IBM typewriters in this office(the company is 29 years old) this I believe is a leftover from that day. Someone mentioned after I found it that there might be more of them. and even the cases they went into. I haven't found any of that yet. I believe we had Selectric 3- again- not so sure after all these years. Right now it's an"as it is" Courier 96 and 10- and IBM- because it says so on the item. Don't know what the 96 means. Seven IBM Selectric Typewriter Font Balls(I found one more- not pictured) Back to Cleaning out Granny's house and shed. I have been asked by the family to step it up a bit as I have been trying to match things up in sets. But I think there may not be many more groups, and in order to speed up selling I will be listing things as I come across them. I will also add, because I am frequently asked, that when it comes to glassware and dishes I do hand wash them in mild dish soap to clean off the dust and spider webs. Anything else I may dust, but I do not use any water or cleaning formulas especially on metals. I do not wash or dry clean any of the clothes. I wouldn't know what would help or destroy them and I've been told that most collectors prefer that they receive them in"found" condition. Lastly, I try to photo everything ... morewith and without a flash so you can get a clear view of the item. Sometimes the flash bleaches out the color and items may appear lighter. I do not know why Granny had these. As far as I know. She never had a typewriter. Anyway, included in the seven are 2 Courier 10, one in excellent condition the other in very good condition; 1 Orator 10 in very good condition, 1 Dual Gothic 12 in good condition, 1 Letter Gothic 12 in good condition, 1 Light Italic 12 in fair to good condition, and 1 Manifold 10 in fair condition with a piece of the latch broken off. Five red holders are included. I have quite a variety of items to sell. This came out of a box of dishes stored in her basement. Vintage IBM Selectric II Correcting Typewriter in Excellent Working Condition
This is an excellent example of an IBM Selectric II correcting typewriter. This typewriter has recentley been cleaned and serviced. The man who did the servicing was a retired IBM serviceman who said it was a great machine. We have tested it and everything works like it should including the correcting function. It comes with its original dust cover and a couple extra ribbons. Although we don't know condition of the ribbons. It also comes with a box of six NuKote Lift-off tape. Please note that this typewriter does not have Dual-Pitch or Half-Backspace levers though it has slots for those. I don't know if this was original or not. Though web research shows some Selectric II's without Dual-Pitch.

Thanks for looking! This is an original IBM Selecrtric typewriter. Putty colored, with cartridge style ribbon. This particular one was a present from my father to my mother in 1966. It was a very impressive gift back then. According to the figures written on the sales pamphlet that's included, it must have cost between $450 and $500 out the door. You could buy a good used car for that. I spent a lot of hours sitting in front of this thing myself, and it's about time to pass it on. Last serviced in 1997(see photo 11, this paper is clipped inside the case on the right) Comes with everything pictured; 4 extra print elements and cleaning brushes, the plastic cover, the 3 pieces of product literature, and an insulating pad that's stuck to the bottom and hard to see. This machine powers up. And everything moves, sort of, but nothing ... morereally works. As soon as you hit the"on" button, it's like a mechanical seizure going on. It has sat for a long time, and the lube gels up and everything gets sticky and stiff. I still believe that this can be brought back. These are tough, the Sherman tank of typewriters. Two things: First. I'm starting with a really low bid because this will take a few dollars to repair. Yes, parting it out could be way more lucrative for you.
