The metal typewriter is blue with cream colored keys and comes with the original Manual and literature. The typewriter is in good vintage condition with all the keys, bell, and return functioning properly. There are some minor imperfections consistent with the age of the typewriter. The sides have some wear to what appears to be some kind of clear or top coat finish as shown in our photos of the sides. Vintage Manual Typewriter Brother Bradford W.T. Grants Made in Japan
Here is a vintage manual typewriter that was bought at an estate sale. It a teal green color and it says Bradford on the front and Brother Industries on the back. It also says L3326151 Made in Japan. Bradford Brother typewriters were sold at W.T. Grants in the 1960’s- mid 1970’s. This typewriter has been tested and is in good working condition. It comes in it’s original teal green zipper case. The case has a few stains and scuff marks. The zipper on the case works fine. But it has come undone on the front edge. There is a 3” space where the zipper is not attached to the case. The inside of the case has little bit of a musty storage smell. There are a couple small light scratch or wear marks to the paint of the typewriter, and the keys are a little age yellowed. SEARS BROTHER VINTAGE TYPEWRITER MANUAL 2 RETRO WHITE 1976 JAPAN w/ CASE
This circa 1976 Sears Manual 2 portable typewriter was made in Japan. And originally retailed for $124.95. It was probably manufactured by Brother, who also made typewriters for K-Mart and other department stores in the 1960s and 1970s. It has chunky computer-like styling, a bright white and black color scheme and an extra-long 13-inch carriage. There is some sort of marbling or mottling on the black Sears badge strip. The surface is complete smooth, so it doesn't detract from the appearance. There are also minor scuff marks on the top edges from storage in the black hardshell plastic carrying case. It is otherwise in beautiful condition. It has been cleaned, and all functions are tested and work smoothly. It definitely needs a new ribbon, but type is still clear and correct. Arabic Language Brother Typewriter 762TR script typeface
Here is a like-new condition typewriter. Made by the Brother Corporation, which made this line in Japan. I believe this one is from the 1980s, but then I have also read that the first few numbers of the serial number(see photo number 6) is supposed to be the year of manufacture, which if true, would make this machine to be from 1991. As I have already mentioned, and as you can see from the pictures, this machine is in like-new condition, apparently having not been used very much, or else used very carefully. The case is a blow mould type case, and as shown in photo number 8, there is a carriage lock to keep the return carriage locked in place during transport and storage, so shipping this typewriter should not be an issue. Since the Arabic language is written and meant to be read from right to left, this very special typewriter works in that ... moresame manner, which seems backwards to most of us English speakers. When you unlock the carriage lock after taking it out of the case, if you attempt to push the carriage to the start position, it will only move to the left to line you up with the right side of the paper. As you type or hit the space bar, the machine advances to the right, then you return it to the left and start again on the right side. This machine also features a"repeat" spacer key, shown in the first two pictures as the larger, red key next to the normal spacer bar on the bottom of the keyboard. Like all manual typewriters, you have adjustments for margins, tabs, position of ribbon, and the pressure of the keys, and the number of spaces between lines of type. This unusual keyboard also includes a direction key for both directions; striking either key once results in the platen moving one space in the direction of the arrow of the key. The platen, the roller that the paper rolls around and is the surface you would strike with the keys if there were no paper in the typewriter, is 12 inches wide, which allows you to work on larger than the normal 8 1/2" x 11" paper, and you could also use
