Which is very helpful. All keys are functional and work perfectly. The typewriter is clean! It was lightly used. There is some minor scuffing near the padded feet on the underside. The keyboard cover is included and has been cleverly designed by Brother so that it doubles as the insert in the top-back of the typewriter to support the paper while typing. There's a big compartment in the back for the power cord. Which is hardwired to the typewriter. The SX-4000 also has a built-in handle on the bottom of the machine that folds under the typewriter when it's sitting flat. The power switch is on the left side. It will be thoughtfully well packed.

This auction is for a vintage BROTHER ECHELON 99 AUTOMATIC TAB manual typewriter. This typewriter was made by Brother in Nagoya Japan. This one was probably made in the1970s with sn k9328436. It is in MINT condition only has minor nicks from the carrying case not from use. One unique feature on this model is the Interchangeable keys for international language. Medical pharmacy engineering and mathematics. I have the original very nice case with keys still attached never used. I have the manual and a NOS ribbon red/black. I took photos with and without flash to try and capture the true color. It has off white larger block style matching keys. The ribbon is wet and it has very nice type. 2 for 1 - Brother Webster & Valiant Vintage Portable Typewriter in Cases - COOL
Two vintage portable manual typewriters. These are almost exactly the same typewriter made in Japan by Brother. The Valiant is gray in a brown case and the Webster is retro aqua in an aqua case. Both typewriters work great and are in nice condition. The Valiant is the little bit nicer of the two. Showing very little wear and being very clean. It types nice. The@ key is a little slow to return and the carriage doesn't always catch just right(I suspect a little oil would help) The Webster has slightly more wear and is a little dirty. All the keys work but the ribbon is sometimes slow to drop down(again. Nothing a little oil and cleaning probably would not fix) Both cases are in good shape. Though the Webster case is a bit musty. Here is a 1987 Vintage Brother AX-24 Electric Word Processing Typewriter in super clean and super working condition. This is a one owner device. Purchased by myself in 1987. It has been carefully used and well maintained. And stored away the past several years. The last time I can remember using it was fall of 2011. At that time. I changed the ink ribbon cartridge; I wish I had more, but that was the last of the original 1987 vintage ribbons. You can still buy them- on ebay, online, or the more enlightened office supply stores. This listing includes a fresh correction ribbon and a spare font wheel for script font. Which came with the typewriter, but has never been used. This typewriter is easy to use. And is a good teaching typewriter. It has memory of every thing typed for ONE LINE of type only. The typewriter's case and markings are essentially in near mint condition. All the original decals and tags are still attached as if new. This is a"light weight" portable typewriter for its day. This typewriter was purchased less than three years ago to be used to type names and dates of birth on note cards in an X-ray department in an orthopedic office.
