Yes. The price is ridiculously low. I have listed this a couple of times, and I realize that shipping will be expensive. so now I want to MOVE IT OUT. It works! Brother high-end portable electronic typewriter. Uses Typing Ball(similar to but NOT interchangeable with)the IBM family"Selectronic" models) Unlike later Brother electronics. The ball and entire typing mechanism stays in place, and the carriage moves as you type. Like the earlier mechanical and electric typewriters. Like computer printers. The keys have a very light touch, as they only work electrical switches. unlike the old mechanical typewriters, which required finger force to work each key's mechanism. There is a writeup about this model in this museum website: The correction tape is the same as used in later Brother portables.the AX and GX series. And lots of others. ... moreThe RIBBON is different. It is still available, however. It was used in the Brother 7200, 7300, 7600, 7800"Correct-O-Ball" models, and the Sears"Correct-O-Sphere" models from late 1970s and early 1980s. It is a 1/2"wide once-through film ribbon, with the unusual feature of alternately typing on upper and lower portions of the ribbon. The one in it is less than half used. The correction tape was just installed and tested. I will include a couple more new correction tapes. But I don't have any more of the correct ribbons. Top cover snaps onto the entire typewriter. It has a special compartment to hold the electric cord. Note that the small plastic plate that covers the typing mechanism is missing. So the ribbon and action are visible when typing. Sorry. I was unable to locate an owners manual for this. As best I can tell, the lift-off correction requires you to backspace, then overtype the errors using the correction key and the erroneous letter key. This typewriter does not have a cord so I am unable to test it for working condition. This typewriter is being sold as a decor piece in its as found condition. The mechanics appear ok but a bit dirty so it could also be used for parts or repair. The typewriter does show it's age and some damage(pictures 2-3) The worst of which is pictured. As stated above there is no cord. The bottom left corner does have a piece of the brown plastic missing. The ribbon cover shows a crack that has been glued back. And the faux wood trim is a little loose in the middle. There are sharpie marks visible near the ribbon as well. While not in perfect or usable condition I find this typewriter ... moreto be a really neat find. I love the two tone body with contrasting black keys. This is a Sears branded(SEARS 300) of a Brother EP-20 Personal Electronic Printer. This neat little unit is like a super quiet dot matrix printer. It includes a cartridge ribbon. But the print is light suggesting a new one might be in order. I discovered that it will also print directly onto thermal paper(like fax paper) WITHOUT a cartridge or any ribbon. So that's neat. Sold As/Is. The included cartridge ribbon is a little wonky. But it seems to work OK. I didn't do much testing beyond typing up a few things. Neat gadget.
