Weston Panel Meter model 506 dual range milliammeter 0-100mA 0-20mA tester mod
This is a used Weston Model 506 dual-range ammeter. 1-100mA and 1-20mA. The panel cutout is 2.2" The meter face is 2.7" The meter body is of bakelite. The glass was reattached with a few drops of glue, though they didn't show up in the picture for some reason. There are no dents or cracks. The meter moves fine. The zero adjust works. This meter is small enough to fit in some tube testers that lack the ability to measure cathode current. If you have a transconductance tester. Insert this in the cathode circuit, and wire up a toggle switch to switch between 20mA and 100mA. It will tell you how much current. If you know the applied plate voltage and grid voltage, you will know the operating parameters of the tube and can compare your results against the book. The meter is made of bakelite and weighs 7 ounces. I don't have a current source(one that is regulated) So I used my LCR meter to make rudimentary readings: inductance is 1.3uH including the 6" long test leads(the meter doesn't have a provision for zeroing out the leads) resistance is 1.01 ohms. There are no dents or cracks. The meter moves fine. The zero adjust works. This would be good for checking the total current in an amplifier. The meter is made of bakelite. With a brass bezel, and weighs 8 ounces. Weston Panel Meter - Model 1521, Reads Microamps,TESTED
Excellent condition. Includes original mounting screws. Test Results(I know. This is kind of nerdy! 8.6 Volt/ 46.3k ohms = 186 microamps Meter reads well within tolerance. A successful test! LOL!

Unique Open Face Latching Vintage Weston Sensitrol Panel Meter Steampunk 0-5mV
This is a very unique open face 0-5mV dc panel meter with a latching contact feature was built in 1964. When the meter reads over 5millivolts DC the needle is captured by a magnet that latches it against the high limit contacts. This closes a set of contacts on the back of the meter(low current only or you'll burn these sensitive contacts) Once captured the needle is held until reset by applying 120VAC across the reset terminals briefly. This causes a set of arms to push the needle off the contact and back into normal operations(I'd recommend this be just a brief pulse to keep the reset coil from overheating) I have tested all the functions of the meter and they all work perfectly. The meter reads dead on at 2.5mV when tested. The meter is also totally sealed front and back. The back contacts are hermetically sealed in glass and the ... morefrom has a rubber gasket under the metal trim that is in good shape. I particularly like this meter becase the movement and contacts are all exposed giving the meter a very unique vintage look. On top of all that. This may have some interesting historical value as it was surplussed from Los Alamos National Labs where it was probably in service during the height of the atomic weapons development under the A.E.C. I really hate to part with this meter, but I'd rather see someone put it to use than put it back on my shelf to collect dust.
