HP 430C Power Meter, Sensor and Manual
This unit stayed in my garage a little too long and now the filter capacitor is shorted and the 5Y3 tube is bad. The cord is frayed and other problems may be present. I removed the lead from the shorted section of the capacitor and substituted another cap as well as rectifier tube and the high voltage came back so the transformer is good. The lead I removed has masking tape on it and can be seen in the picture. At least you get the manual and sensor with it. I have no way to test the sensor. Probably won't take much to get it back on line. The manual alone is worth the low starting bid. This item is being sold as is with no right of return. Fully functioning and accurate Hewlett-Packard/ Agilent Power Meter Set-Up that includes the 8481B power sensor with matching 8494A precision wide band power attenuator, 436A power meter with HPIB interface option and rear sensor input option, 11730A sensor cable and 19 inch rack-mounting kit. Specifications The power sensor is specified for signals ranging from 0 dBm(1 mW) to +44 dBm(25W) for a frequency range from 10 MHz to 18 GHz. The high power levels can be accurately measured due to the combination of the power sensor with a precision wide band power attenuator. The calibration is valid for this particular combination and HP printed the serial number of the matching power ... moresensor on the attenuator. Many 8481B sensors have become separated from the attenuators but you can see in the pictures that that has not happened to this combination and this attenuator indeed belongs to this power sensor. The attenuator has a male N-connector for input and a female N-connector as output to the male N-connector of the power sensor. HP 432A RF Power Meter with Micronetics TM-400(HP 478A) Sensor and HP Cable. Working and tested HP 432A meter. Thermistor sensor, and 3’ connecting cable— sold as a complete set only. The 432A covers the RF power range from +10dBm(10mW) full-scale. To-20dBm(10uW) full-scale, calibrated to-30dBm on meter scale, and usable to less than 1uW(40dBm) on meter scale. RF attenuators(not supplied) can extend the power range up as far as needed. The 432A is serial number 1848A20330 and is from the greenish-color generation of HP gear that use the now-standard IEC/computer power cable. It has the usual panel sticker residue and scratches from cal label replacement and general use wear and tear. The Micronetics sensor takes a while to reach thermal equilibrium, and zeros and cals on the button(see pix) from my HP 436’s 50MHz 0dBm Ref. Source. The HP connecting cable is flawless. Note in the picture that the 432A is set for a Calibration Factor of 97, which is what is correct for this particular sensor. Cards on the table here— I’m selling this setup because I got an HP 436A meter and HP 8484A sensor and cable. Which are working well, making this set surplus to my needs. The 432A and TM-400 sensor track within tiny fractions of a dB with my 436A and 8484A sensor from 10MHz to 1GHz, which is the limit of my ability to test.
