This is a vintage GE made in the USA analog amp meter. From the design. I'd guess it was made in the late 60's/early 70's. Marked X4 442 on the back side. I tested the functionality by briefly connecting a 9v battery to the meter. The needle responded normally. Mild to moderate cosmetic wear. Scuffs to the faceplate. Calibration screw has wear. There is a bit of debris inside the unit that makes noise when you shake it. Probably a bit of dirt, shouldn't affect the functionality, but I thought I should mention it. Here's an interesting bar graph analog meter. Handy for some pieces with very little real estate for meters. 0-60ma. I think the maker is Beede, and Collins refers to the radio company. Zero adjust works. Meter moves fine. This would be good for checking tube bias. The meter weighs 4 ounces. I don't have a current source(one that is regulated) So I used my LCR meter to make rudimentary readings: inductance is 2.2uH including the 6" long test leads(the meter doesn't have a provision for zeroing out the leads) resistance is 2.28 ohms.
