Edgewise panel ammeter made by Hoyt precision meters in the USA with vertical scale in first class condition. Calibrated 0-100 RMS milliamperes. Size of the unit is 2.5 inches(6.25 cm) by 2.75(7 cm) behind the panel. The width is 5/8 inches(1.7cm) There is a 0.75 inches protrusion at the side of meter. The design of these meters is similar to the current Hoyt model 673. The meter comes complete with mounting bracket which fits behind the panel.

Antique. With the last patent date of 1901, Weston Ammeter Model 280 Type A Control Box marked Herman A. Holz, NY in excellent aesthetic Museum quality condition with very minor exterior wear to the Mahogany box with light scratches and minor dings. This is an untested item. Having no way of testing it, but the aesthetic condition is excellent and in my estimation museum quality. All of the knobs appear to be Bakelite and the contact and wire terminals being Brass. There is no key for the lock included. This is how I found the item. The glass of the ammeter is intact with very little wear. The box measures 15" long by 9" wide and 7-1/2" deep. The four feet of the bottom are intact and in very good condition. The wood of the box appears to be Mahogany with metal corner protectors all around. Museum quality item. One original ammeter from a Cub Cadet 1650. The ammeter appears to work. But the needle is not centered. It appears to be in good condition. This came off a Cub Cadet 1650 I was in the process of rebuilding. Was unable to complete it. Parting out. Watch for my other auctions for many new and used parts. This is a used, untested ammeter. I connected a battery charger to it and the needle moved, but that is the extent of my testing.

Vintage Bell Telephone "Tong Test" Ammeter, Original Case, 3 Ranges, #810
This a Bell Telephone vintage Columbia tong test ammeter from the 60's or 70's era. It has 3 meters which are interchangeable. 0 to 75 amperes, 0 to 200 amperes, and 0 to 500 amperes. For any old phone colletion this would be a must. The Columbia tong test ammeter is an example of the iron vane type, used for measuring large AC currents up to 1000 amperes. The iron jaws of the meter direct the magnetic field surrounding the conductor to an iron vane that is attached to the needle of the meter. The iron vane moves in proportion to the strength of the magnetic field, and thus produces a meter indication proportional to the current. This type of ammeter can measure both AC and DC currents and provides a true RMS current measurement of non-sinusoidal or distorted AC waveforms. Interchangeable meter movements can be installed in the clamping ... moreassembly to provide various full-scale current values up to 1000 amperes. There is a terminal post on either side. The dial face appears to be made of heavy paper and is marked: A. C. Meter. Victor" Dial registers between 3 and 5. The glass has no apparent cracks or chips.
