This is a Scientific Instruments/AO Reichert Sigmoidoscope. Model SC-4B. These are normally used in the field of medicine for visual inspections through endoscopy. This unit is being sold as-is as-described, there are some defects noted with this endoscope although from a general perspective it is operating(just not 100% Please be sure to read the description fully before bidding as all sales are final. Endoscope is in fair condition with scuffs. Marks and wear from normal usage. Looking through the scope(picture below) you can see that some of the fibers are broken, but for the most part you can see the subject area through eyepiece with no problems. One of the rubber grommets on the light-source cable broke off, so I had to put some electrical tape to hold the cable in place. The light-source fibers appear OK and light is properly illuminated ... morethrough the scope(light source not included) Articulation is only working in two directions. The inner-larger knob works properly. Although the smaller-outer knob is not working, an internal inspection shows that the cables have broken inside the control head. Because of this, full articulation is not possible. I don't have the expertise or material to repair it either. As it is.
