I have for bid an Antique Victorian Brass& Tinted Amber Beveled Glass Jewelry Display Casket. It measures 9 1/2" side to side. 6 1/2" front to back and 4 7/8" tall. It has beautiful Ornate Floral Brass Filigree with Large Tulip Flowers on each end. There are 5 Tinted Amber Beveled Glass Panels, the pictures make the tint look dark Amber because of the flash, they are actually a lighter Amber Color in person. It has a tan cushion bottom that is in pretty nice condition. There are no cracks or chips in the glass and the brass is in excellent condition, hinged lid is working fine. It has four ornate legs, it does have a nice aged patina which I think adds character to the piece. Late 1800's or very early 1900's. U.S. buyers to pay $10.00 S/H, it weighs approx. 2 1/2 pounds. This swag is made up, essentially, of glass beads, mostly seed beads, and cylinder shaped beads) The Cylinder beads are thin, straw colored beads with ultra-small, almost undetectable verticle lines, that give them a strong sheen and almost pearlized reflection. I was excited to find the pieces in such good condition. And I have to say, in forty years of being around and in the antique business, I can't recall ever stumbling on any finer sections of this type beaded swag. In gilt filigree and heavy beveled glass is this quality made jewelry casket from the mid-20 th century or earlier. Triangular in shape and sitting on three feet. It has floral repousse work all around and a thickly padded velvet interior. The lid is gilt surrounded beveled glass. The bottom is solidly backed in gilt metal which is unusual for boxes of this type. The back hinge is broad, and has a catch piece on it to prevent the lid from falling backward when opened. A stylized floral crown piece forms the repousse latch. The size is 5" wide on hinged side. 4" deep front to back, 2-3/4" tall. In very good condition: the ormolu filigree has some patina. But not overly so, and it is not verdigri’ed. No breaks, cracks or bends in the metal that I could see. The glass is clear and unblemished. Excellently done decorative soldering on all joint areas and in between. Sides have beveled clear glass and a mirror bottom. Top and bottom connected by a chain. No chips or cracks. Solder has been tinted a brass color and could use some polish. Four decorative feet. Made very well with box top hinged and is very secure. Mirror has been sprayed so it won't deteriorate. The Necklace is a 3 strand Necklace. Unique Beads. Glass Beads and Faux pearls which have age wear and some flaking. This Necklace you can wear or harvest to use the Wonderful Beads. Some of the Glass Geads have to me somewirls in them, some have sugar specs sort of on them, the sugar spec ones may be ceramic. I am not sure for I am no expert. The Bracelet needs to be restrung- repaired. You can use the Beads which are Neat looking. I am not sure what the Beads are made of. Possibly Lucite? There is a design inside of them. Each Bead measures approx 1 by 7/8 of an inch. They would need to be cleaned. They have weight to them. There ... moreare 2 holes on each side to run your wire and or string thru.
