The beads are silver with coconut shell beads as spacers. There are 2 long silver beads with a hammered floral pattern. There are 4 yellow glass beads that have a silver cap and bottom. The necklace is centered by an ornate pendant with florid relief motives and dangling charms. The necklace is 18" long including the charms. Pendant. Charms and long beads are hollow. This is a beautiful piece by Will Denetdale. A celebrated Navajo silver-smith and artist who lives in Arizona. The silver is all tarnished(and looks great, in my opinion) even the snake-like 24 inch silver chain is darkened with patina. The pendant itself is a little over an inch long and is signed on the back by the artist, as he does with all his works. His current works in styles much like this one go for $400- $600 today, so whoever wins this is getting a really great deal! Old Navajo Squash Blossom Necklace w/Turquoise Horned Naja
An early Navajo Harvey era large silver squash blossom necklace having a unique chiseled and stamped double"horned" naja. With 4 round set blue turquoise stones and 1 diamond-shaped turquoise stone set between the triangular wires of the double naja, all stones original and plain bezel set. There are a couple of dings on the beads and 2 small stones have hairlines, consistent with age and wear, nothing posing a problem. There is a triangular chiseled cross bar at the naja's top, referred to as a"horned naja" made popular by Eskiesose. All the silver wires in the naja appear to have been crafted from coin or ingot silver. There are applied domed fluted silver buttons at the naja terminals. The stampwork consists of crooked arrows and an interesting and unusual Hopi-looking rain cloud crest at the top of the naja. There ... moreare 14 long blossom pendants on each side, with old-style four petaled end flutes. The handmade graduated beads are strung on sturdy wire, measuring 9/16" hole to hole for the larger beads and 3/8" hole to hole for the smaller beads. Naja measures 2 3/4" tall X 2 5/16" wide, silver blossom pendants are 1 3/4" long, which includes the stems. Hand carved pikake necklace. Is 16 1/2 inches long lying legnthwise and weights just over 30 gr. The beads are 11mm in diameter x15mm long. It has a beautiful warm patina. The invisible screw clasp and a couple of beads have light reddish staining which could be make up and may or may not be removable, I don't know how to clean it and have not tried.
