This has recently be gently and love lying conserved: all the glass panels cleaned and polished, the gilt ormolu gently swabbed and dusted, and a new genuine silk lining professionally made(constructed utilizing identical methods and materials as the original) However, I should like to point out that the gilt-gold ormolu has not yet been polished; when it is. This box will certainly sparkle magnificently! Personally, I am always torn between leaving the original patina and lovely luster of age, and the bright shine of perfect polishing. One of the drawers has a ink spot. Overall nice condition, there are a few scratches along the edges, but a little old english would cover them nicely. Gray colored velvet lining. The glass panels are 2 1/8 inches wide. This type of collectible ... morebox in good condition is getting difficult to find. At least in my experience. All the glass panels are intact with no chips or cracks and they are all secure in the brass frames. One of the panels opens up and the closure is in good working order. A brass hook is attached at the top center to hang items or jewelry. There is some patina to the brass frame and rust on the bottom(see photo) There are no signatures or other identifying marks on this piece that I could see. I have three similar boxes here that I acquired in Mexico in the 1960's and 1970's. So I'm pretty sure this one is also from Mexico and around the same time period. This box weighs 15.8 ounces and is in fair(rust on bottom) to very good condition. I ship all fragile items such as this in either double-wall boxes or box-in-box with lots of bubble wrap and packing peanuts to prevent breakage. These boxes do weigh more than a regular box. Vogue Triple Strand Necklace Earrings Demi Parure Set Rare signed Vogue 1950's demi parure(two piece set) in"Givre" Glass in the most beautiful pink/clear art glass! The necklace has three strands in graduated lengths and each bead is knotted. It measures 15" plus a 2 1/2" extender. Each of the three strands has a different size combination for the beads and overall have a graduated size appearance. The shortest strand measures 14" long. The middle one is 16 1/2" long and the longest one is 19" long. The smallest bead is 5mm and the largest is 12mm placed on the center of the longest strand. Earrings are clip and measure 5/8" in diameter. They are a single large pink/clear"givre" glass cabochon and set on fancy prongs in silver plated metal. This vintage gilt casket trinket box is in excellent preowned condition except the hinged lid sits slightly off center when closed. On some of the pictures there looks like some of the gilt appears to be wearing or flaking off, that is actually patina and wil rub off with little effort.
