Back in the fifties a glass factory was allowed to dump in several places along the river. The largest was a place later called Glass Hill. there have been several major floods since 2005 which tore apart the hill and it was totally under water. Raising the river over 30 feet. When it receded large chunks of glass started to appear out of the hill. Also a lot had washed down into the river and was hung up among the rocks. We actually search it like people search for gold. Smoother than most beach glass. I was told that the silt in the river is what gives some of my pieces the polished look. If you are a beach comber you know it is hard to find even a few pcs in ... morea summer season. Since this was a dump site I am able to find large quantities although they may not be those perfectly round sea tumbled pieces. They are still great for crafting. 2 Jewelry Display Cases. Glass Top, plus Several Pins or Brooches
These two display cases are great for garage sales. Flea markets, fairs, etc. The top with its glass insert lifts off, the jewelry stays put on the padding inside. It helps with security. The boxes are made of cardboard and covered in black paper and they are in good condition- a little paper loss at one corner, and the paper is fragile. They measure Don't overlook the jewelry- almost all pins- the"M" initial pin is Sarah Coventry. The three pins with blue stone centers are identical. There are two pins that for all the world I think are made from the glass from eye glasses that have either been hand painted or had a paper image affixed to it, sealed somehow, and then had an edging applied. Large 1980s Blue, White & Gold Earrings with Clear Glass Jewels, Costume Jewelry
Large fashion earrings from the early 1980s. Marbled blue and solid white with glitter gold details and clear glass'jewels' These rounded rectangular earrings are great! A silver metal is the base and the colors are hand- painted on. Some areas have been left un painted so the silver metal shows through. My father bought these for me in the early 1980s and although I love them. They do not go with my current wardrobe. They have been rarely, if ever, worn. Each earring is 2" tall by 1 1/4" wide and the back is a silver metal. Possibly silver plated as it shows some signs of tarnish. They are stud earrings with the larger plastic earring back to secure them and the stud is at the top above the center rectangular cut-out. They hang well when you wear them. I am offering a Beautiful Vintage Green Rhinestone Earrings and Brooch Set. The rhinestones are called uranium glass and glow under a black light. They are called uranium glass because they contain a very small amount uranium oxide in the glass. The earrings look like very delicate leaves with 4 green rhinestones. The rhinestones for a design that remind me of a flower bud. They are Clip On and they hold securely. The brooch has two 2 long stem flowers that intertwine. One of the flowers has a small bud at the base of one of the leaves. The leaves on the flowers look very delicate and have nice detailed veins. But they are sturdy. They are gold toned. I believe they are gold plated. Vaseline glass is yellow glass that glows green under a black light. Ur anium glass is green glass that glows green under a black light. This is one of the most outstanding American coach jewelry box. It is around 6" wide. 4" high and 3" deep. There is no discoloration. Being in good shape. It has a few problems. The left back side of the lid has a little damage. It can't be noticed unless you look for it. And the lid doesn't close totally. This problem is very common with this kind of jewelry boxes.Please check out the last two pictures for these two problems. There is 1/2" hair line scratch in the center of the back middle beveled glass. I could't take the picture of it. Overall this jewelry box is in a very good condition.
