This is a manual direct differential hoist which means you get mechanical advantage from ... morethe difference in circumference of the top chain pulleys. The differential on this is about 15:1 and the mechanical advantage is double that so 30:1. To lift 1000 lbs you need to pull with about 33 lbs of force. To get an inch of lift. You need to pull about 30 inches of chain. Shows less than normal signs of age and use(it has a little rust. But, nothing damaging) Stored in a"clean" and dry storage bin. Used infrequently in residential construction to set beams and pulled more than a few engines from trucks and cars. The best things about this Hoist is SAFETY. TRUST and ease of use. Smooth operation and a lifting monster with super precision control. Seriously. When we wanted to lift or set 1/4inch we didn't have to tappity tap back and forth on electric controls like the ones on cheap-as-junk electric cable hoists. Catch my meaning? Not being an expert in hoist classifications. I am GUESSING that this hoist would be rated as a 16-20ft maximum lift. But judge the max lift length yourself by looking at the photo of it hanging on a ladder. It is hanging from 8 ft to the ground and there is about 6 ft of chain laying on the ground. Very good condition(obviously I have not used any cleaning solvents/wire brush/etc. Also included is the I-beam 4-roller shuttle. I WILL SHIP THIS ITEM but it is heavy. Sale is for 1 chain hoist 2000 pound capacity. 30 foot lift. This hoist came from a major manufacture with it's own hoist maintenance department. This hoist was recently tested and any necessary repairs made. Any Chinese hoist is cheaper than this on but none have a 30 foot lift. The hand chain is only about 12 feet long so I don't know how this was used, maybe lifting from a pit? I'm including 11 feet of extra hand chain, you would have to weld or braze the links to add it on. There is 40 dollars on this listing for shipping.
