Up for auction is this vintage snatch block. I can make out DRH Johnson on it but nothing else. I found it in a garage I bought. It was mounted to an I-beam overhead and had a sign saying"Max. Safe Operating Capacity 10 Tons(20.000 lbs. I don't know if that is the actual rating of this piece though. I would have to assume that the rig would be labeled for the weakest component so I would also assume that this is 10 tons or more. It's about 19" from tip of the hook to the bottom of the pulley. The pulley as about 6-1/2 inches in diameter and looks like it had a 1" diameter cable. It's a little filthy and has some surface rust but the hook swivels and the pulley rotates freely. Please note: Item will be partially disassembled in order to fit in a flat rate priority box in order to save you money as well as reach you ... morein a lot less time. No reserve so bid to win! Vintage Crosby Wooden Double Block And Tackle Set W/ Rope. Rigging.
This Auction is for a complete set of rare Crosby wooden double pulley block& tackle with rope. Im guessing there is at least a 100+ foot of rope. I haven't measured it or tested other than playing with the hooks and pulleys to make sure they moved and were tight like they should be. And I'm not a expert but it worked like I would think it should. Even better for its age. It looks like this set of rope and pulleys have many more years of use! This was my Dads and hasn't been used in at least 14 years. I'm not sure of all the uses he used them but I know he would use it to pull cable lines from light pole to light pole to replace the old cable lines. I got this loose and do not know what it is. It is made of aluminum. I think. It has a plastic covering on the wheel part that makes it seem like it was made for rope instead of metal cable. Stamped on the pulley is MPS 304-3400-013 MPS TVS1 MP8 4.5-3 3043400004 MPS 3000 LBS SWL. If anyone could tell me what this is for, I would appreciate it.
