This grinder was purchased new in 2003 for a coffee shop that my wife owned for 5 years. When she sold the shop in 2008. This grinder was kept. It was refurbished a few months before the shop was sold. Besides the normal service, the base was replaced(She forgets why) It's been in temp. controlled storage for the last 4 years. The hopper was broken at one time and was glued. The pics I've included should show that. We have lost the lid to the hopper along the way. Here's a well-used Nuova Simonelli MCD 65 bulk grinder. This was used in our coffee shop before we bought the place. It started to trip the thermal breaker recently. So we bought a new bulk grinder. Nuova Simonelli RR45 espresso coffee grinder, excellent condition
Up for auction is the following: One Nuova Simonelli RR45(it's not an MDX. Despite the appearance) in used, but excellent condition. It's a manual model, so you just turn it on and off to grid however much you want. 22 inches tall. It's big, it's solid, and it works perfectly. I purchased it used about a year ago, tore it apart to clean it, lubricated the motor bearings and put new burrs in it. I am just an enthusiastic home coffee brewer, so it hasn't seen commercial use since I refurbed it. It'll grind the coffee plenty fine enough to choke my Wega, so the burrs still have plenty of life left. The grind consistency is great, the doser adjusts smoothly. The grind adjustment collar is smooth as glass with 40 adjustment notches per revolution; the brass threads are in really good shape. One very nice thing: it has a ... morevery short chute between the grind chamber and the doser, so it's really easy to clean out anything in the chute. Cosmetically, you can tell that it's not brand new, but it looks just fine in a kitchen. About the only thing that's not great about it: the bean hopper was badly damaged when the unit was shipped to me, so I had to epoxy the bottom of it back together. The nice part is that it's just the bottom, so if you turn the cracked part toward the back, you can't see anything is wrong from the front. I've treated it very gently and it's held up fine; I tend to think it will be ok in the long run. It's 110 volt, 300 watts, so it doesn't need a special outlet. It's a great grinder! So. If it's so great, why am I selling it? Well.I've always had soft spot for the Rancilio MD40/50 grinders. I don't know why, either, as they're kind of ugly compared to this grinder. I got my hands on an MD50 recently, and there's no way I can justify having two monster grinders in the kitchen, so away this one goes to a new home. Up for auction is one of my Nuova Simonelli MDU Commercial NSF ETL listed Espresso Coffee Grinders. I used this grinder in my shop up until the day I closed the doors and I am pretty sure(but am not 100% positive. that was a while ago) that I replaced the burrs within the last 4-6 months of operation of the business so they should have plenty of life left in them. Nuova Simonelli Commercial Burr Coffee Grinder RR4590 Heavy Duty Quality READ
Up for sale is this true gem that needs some TLC. I bought it from a local consignment store this afternoon since the weight and color caught my eye. I did some research based on the label and was able to determine the maker as listed in the title. The previous owner ran a local coffee shop until she shut down last year. The machine sat since then and will need some TLC. It powers up and spins well. The machine is very heavy built with quality in mind.along with lots of power! There is NO LID to the coffee bean hopper on top. The power switch is slightly crooked but cuts on/off fine and lights up. The lever works and will push grinds through the spout. As you can see. It does show lots of wear and scratches. I took it apart and soaked parts in water before drying them off. A more thorough cleaning with soap and a scrub brush should have it ... morelooking even better. The grinding area had some coffee residue so I cleaned up what I could. I removed the black grind size knob and oiled the machine but still CAN'T GET THE KNOB TO TURN(this knob adjust the size of the grind) It could be user error or something could be locked up.
