WHAT a find this is! I have been searching for an adult men's mannequin head for some time now. But the little guy was just too handsome to pass up. He is a bit too small to wear adult men's hats. So I hope he goes to a good home! We named him Franchot(after Franchot Tone. Formerly married to Joan Crawford) a big star from Hollywood's golden era. The pictures speaks to the condition of Franchot. For it's age. And in comparison to many I have come across, this is in AMAZING shape! Molded dress form is made by Life Style. It is molded with what looks like heavy paper and plaster and covered with fabric knit. Wood base is adjustable. The bust itself measures 19.5" from neck to the bottom of the form. It can be raised to stand 41" high total by adjusting the metal bar. It has been lightly used but is still very clean. It has two very tiny pin holes on the back- see photo. And a little but of light red staining on one spot on the breast and 2 very light spots on the back. Flaws are not overwhelming. Also has velcro strips at the shoulders. The wood insert at the base of the body form is approximately 15" x 10 1/2" with wear and age to the materials as photographed. The fabric covered mannequin slides off of the metal shaft as shown. The base may have been added after the fact during a touch up phase. Vintage Wolf Dress Form Bust
Antique Wolf Dress Form/Sewing mannequin. I think from the 1960's or 70's. Dress form is approximately a size 6 with a 34A bust. And can be used either to drape and design on or as a decorative piece. Form still has some old pins in it and old writing and marks on the fabric from when its was in use years ago. Form has a small half inch tear on the upper left bust(can be seen in the pictures) and a couple of imperfections in the fabric(as can be expected from an antique form) and the top metal piece is dented slightly, but it is overall in pretty good condition and has a lot of character and history. I bough this form years ago from a"grading and marking" tailor in the garment district of Manhattan, who had owned it for decades. Please email with any other questions.
