It is designed to protect the electronics in the drawer from shorting out when product is spilled into the drawer. Of course. Nobody ever adds product, dispenses product, or checks product with the control drawer open, so no need for this item- right? While we all should keep the drawer closed, in reality every one of us has sloshed product around with the drawer open. For a few bucks you can add this protector and prevent having to replace switches and control boards the next time product is accidentally sloshed/spilled/dripped into the control drawer. It is made of silicone. Has indentations for all the switches and knobs, and a metal piece that holds the cover in place. This works only on the CDS-2(two hoppers) not the CDS-3. Whenever you open the refrigeration system for repair you should replace the filter/dryer. And having the correct filter/dryer and correct size and length capillary tube already brazed in place is a giant time saver and ensures your refrigeration system will perform properly(wrong diameter, wrong length, or sloppy cut on regulating end of capillary tube will negatively affect your system) This dryer has two inputs(one for each solenoid) and it is not always easy to try to find a generic filter with the properly sized two ports in one for input and one port out for a capillary tube, and that it will physically fit into your machine. The replacement of this part requires the evacuation and refilling of the refrigerant(Freon) in your machine and must be done by an EPA-certified refrigeration technician. Plunger, plunger spring, plunger tube assembly gasket, spacer, and retainer clip. An illustrated instruction sheet is also included. Luckily, this is one of only two Bunn machines that has rebuildable valves. Save yourself lots of cash and labor by rebuilding a valve rather than replacing it($170 for parts only to replace the entire valve) The refrigeration solenoid is an electrically-operated valve that allows the machine's main computer to send refrigerant independently to each of the two evaporators(cooling tubes) in the CDS-2 hoppers. This is designed for the 120VAC Ultra-2 HP machine. There have been three different compressors used in the Ultra-2 machine to date. If the compressor gets too hot(often because users do not plug the machine into a dedicated circuit or use a long and small gauge extension cord) This switch opens and stops electricity from getting to the compressor to prevent damage. When the compressor cools down, the switch closes automatically and the compressor can again get electricity. The actual replacement of this part is relatively easy. But the troubleshooting needed to determine the need to replace is intermediate and may require a repair technician with electrical and refrigerant systems experience.
