PURCHASED AT THE ESTATE SALE OF A RETIRED BUTCHER 60 year old VINTAGE HOBART Model 410 Deli Meat Slicer. I believe its from the early 1950s. The sticker label on the bottom shows a(5252 rev. date) COULD mean May 2.1952. HEAVY DUTY looking 19 foot cord. I plugged it in. It came on when i flipped the switch. Nice smooth hum.I sliced a raw potato from thick to thin. It seemed to work very well. PIC 12. shows a professional repair weld from decades ago. A professional factory repair for a common break.

US Slicing Machine Company Berkel Model C Vintage Meat Slicer
This is a really cool old hand crank US Slicing Machine Company/Berkel Model C meat slicer from the late 1930's I believe. It was made in La Porte. Indiana(as it sort of says on the crank) It is in fantastic mechanical condition for its age. I'm no expert on these machines/this was purchased from an estate sale, but here's what I can tell you about it: The BAD: The paint doesn't look too hot. It appears to have been repainted(non-professionally) some years ago. And both layers of paint are flaking off. This includes the logos. It actually says"Model C" on the side of the tower, but it's very hard to see in the pics. The milk glass meat-catching tray is gone. From what I understand. However, these aren't too hard to find. It looks like there's some type of small knob missing from the chrome mechanism directly ... moreabove the meat tray. I'm not even sure what it's supposed to look like. As it was hard to find pics of this somewhat rare model. One of the grinding stones is chipped on the edge. Replacements aren't too hard to find. Sharpener mechanism is a little stiff. But would probably loosen up easily. Blade shroud looks to have been tig welded near the end some time ago. But is solid. The GOOD: IT WORKS! Quite beautifully. Actually. All mechanisms, knobs, and adjustments seem to work as intended. Meat holding tray ratchets/indexes forward just as it should. These things are quite fascinating to watch. I have done nothing to try and restore it. As to keep it as original as possible. Only a light coating of WD-40 has been applied to the mechanisms for lubrication and to prevent further oxidation. This would be an excellent candidate for restoration. It wouldn't take a whole lot. Really.paint, chrome plating, and some polishing should fix it right up. I'm not certain of the manufacturing date. Very nice manual meat or cheese slicer that would be useful in any kitchen. You just have to love the German engineering that went into this vintage slicer. It features a adjustable table/work surface clamping system that is spring loaded for quick and easy release. Even without clamping it can be used on all most any surface with it's multiple positioning cutting board feature. That folds up for storage convenience. Has a knurled thumb wheel for quick adjustments of the slice thickness. Best of all, it is engineered to quickly and easily be taken apart for detailed cleaning. Even though it has been well used it still cuts extremely well probably due to the quality steel blade which is still very sharp. This listing is for a Vintage Oster Deli Cut Meat and Cheese Slicer. Model 347-48A. It has been completely tested and it works Great! It has printed on it that it was Made for Paul Masson. There is a dial on the back that can be turned to change the thickness of cut. There are 4 different thickness settings and a fifth setting for when the slicer is not in use. Lastly. There is a release setting for removing the blade for cleaning. It has a food guide that you would place the item to be sliced atop of and you would then manually move that guide so the item is pushed into the slicing wheel. Just move it left and right and slice the item for as much as you want to slice up. The sliding guide slides back and forth freely with no interference and the blade is very sharp. It doesn't take up much space and even folds closed when not in use. ... moreJust remove the sliding food guide and fold the bottom up against the blade. This hefty unit was made in White Plains NY. By the National Food Slicing machine Co. a Division of The Steam-O-Matic Corp. Believe last used regularly in a NYC meat store sometime in the 1960s. Although the slicer may have been manufactured earlier. It appears to be all-original(except perhaps for the feet) And has remained untouched in storage for 3-4 decades. This seller does not know what maintenance should be done for a vintage unit of this age. Obviously it's equipped with an old-style ungrounded. Unpolarized 2-prong plug at the end of an(original? cord. And the decades old motor develops a bit of an"old motor" oil? air when it is powered up for a while. Please ... moresee it running in the video below. Has only been dusted and dry-wiped- not deep cleaned or polished. As this non-expert does not know whether any necessary lubricant etc. is present. The slider moves. And circular blade turns. Cosmetically. A used workhorse like this is not perfect, so please see the photos. To my eye much of the visible chrome is still shiny. Or can possibly be cleaned and polished to a shine. The blade may need polishing(small spots of surface rust or organics) or sharpening. Two or three of the rubber feet are missing or distressed. The unseen underside of the unit is less pleasing. With more marks, smudges. Nicks and debris, etc. than the visible top side(photos) Though a enthusiast of different vintage items. The seller knows it can be difficult to locate original or compatible items in any condition. This is a very nice vintage meat cleaver cutlery knife tool. Made by Quikut who began manufacturing in Clyde Ohio in 1920. Later they moved to Fremont Ohio in 1953 and then they were bought out by another company in 1964. This meat cleaver was from their Fremont Ohio factory. They are the makers of the Ginsu knife. Originally called Quikut until they had the marketing meeting and campaigns that changed the infomercial forever. It is a nice heavy stainless steel with a red plastic attractive handle that has a hole for hanging it up if desired. It measures 10" long in all. The handle measures 4 1/4" long and the blade measures 5 1/4" long and is 2 3/4" at its highest point. I did not sharpened the blade. It is in good solid used condition with signs of use on the blade and the handle. Included is a free stainless and plastic ... morecheese slicer/grater with a red plastic handle. made in Hong Kong. This is a Rival hand turn meat slicer model 1015. Made in Germany. The blade says Rostgeschutzt on it. It is in nice and solid working condition. The rubber suction cups on the bottom are all there an in great shape with no cracking. I don't see any scratches but it needs. Good cleaning.
