I am able to turn the blade by hand, so I'm ... morenot sure if the problem is with the motor or maybe the gears. It has cosmetic marks, grime, oxidation, etc. from age and previous use. One screw and knob part has been replaced with a contemporary nut and bolt. The slicer comes with what looks like either the original or a replacement(see picture) Also, the blade guard has a repair on it as shown. The slicer is being sold as-is, for parts or repair. Please see the pictures for more details. My research indicates the dataplate for this slicer was originally where the power switch is. This slicer has had its switch replaced some time ago. And the dataplate is now lost. I looked around online and I think it's a model 150, but I'm not sure about that. It may have had a higher number, up to Model 285. But the examples I saw online that are Model 150 all look very much like this slicer, more than the other models I found. Again, I'm not totally sure. I found sources for parts online. And you'll spend a lot to get most of them, so this slicer is a goldmine of value if you're trying to restore or repair one and need various parts. Again. My husband who is the slicer in our family believes it is better than what you'd find now in most delis and restaurants. We found it stored in a church basement in Akron. OH, in the early 1990s. Cleaned lubed, reassembled, aligned and NEW SHARPENING and TRUING STONES INSTALLED 5) NEW RUBBER SUPPORT FEET installed 6) NEW MAIN POWER SWITCH 7) KNIFE IS NEW and SHARP AS A SCALPEL! 9) THE CENTER PLATE SUPPORT COUPLING NUT IS NEW 10) THE SLIDE ASSEMBLY WHERE THE CARRIAGE SLIDES BACK AND FOURTH WAS CLEANED. Great deal considering new these are over $2500.00. This works perfectly. We spent over an hour cleaning it up but still recommend a through final clean before use. There looks to be some hard water stains on it. We didn't want to use any chemicals on it so it was just soap and water. I'm sure there is a Commercial cleaner that is used on these that we don't have access to. We took off the bottom tray and cleaned inside the base. We cleaned the cord tip to connection. We took it ... moreapart and cleaned everything we could get apart. This has it's own blade sharpening stones. This is used but it wasn't abused. We plugged it in and the belt driven motor runs the blade pretty quietly considering. We were told this came out of a Restaurant in the Amana Colonies.
