I'm selling an antique meat grinder that I had as a display item in my studio kitchen. It's a Spong no 5 model I think is from the late 1940's. It still works. Has a clamp to attach to a tabletop and is branded with the company name. I found the ad I've displayed her(ad not part of item purchased) that has a newer model mincer shown in a 1951 ad. It's a neat piece of nostalgia but no longer goes with the contemporary style of my new place so I hope it goes to a new home where it will be displayed again. Missouri in 1866. KK was on every imaginable tool for Carpentry. Mechanics, Gardening and Handyman as well as Household items from Waffle irons. Grinders, Cutters. Sharpeners, Sewing machines, Stoves, and more. E.C. Simmons was sold in 1940 to Shapleigh Hardware using the Shapleigh KK Keen Kutter label until 1960. It is a RUSSWIN No. 0 model and was built by the Russell& Irwin Mfg Co in New Britain, Con. U.S.A. It reads"PAT. MCH 4, 02" on the body, and on the handle is states"PAT'D. IN CANADA AUG. 27, 01. I assume those are 19 02& 19 01. Although I suppose it's possible it could be 18 02& 18 01. But if you are looking at antique meat grinders I'm sure you know which century it represents. So I'll leave that up to you. It is about 9" long overall, would stand about 5.75" above the table top, and weighs 3 pounds, 12 ounces.
